Good point. Since it's refurbished, though, you would need to make sure you had a UPC in order to claim the rebate. Also, as always, YMMV on rebates from New Rochelle. It's a good price even if the rebate doesn't come through, though.

The local store wont pricematch the online store.. well my local Microcenter in ATlanta wouldn't. So I did instore pickup and paid roughly 2~ after rebate

SMC might not like the words "Reburbished" on your receipt. MicroCenter would be crazy not to put it on there.

I've had them write "NO RETURN" on mine before.. but never refurbished.

OK, I know some people don't like it when others call for information, but I just couldn't help myself. I called and the CSR told me it was refurb, original packaging, and had UPC. He of course just to the logical conclusion that I was going for the $40 rebate, and offered the information that that rebate is not valid with this refurb.

When I asked why he could only tell me that the B&M stores had it for something like $109, and was 49.99 after rebate. When I told him there was nothing on the form that indicated that the rebate was contingent on the purchase price, he just repeated the line about the B&M being $109 and the rebate applied to that.

I called the rebate center and a CSR told me that the rebate WAS NOT contingent on purchase price and as long as the SKU# matched it would be honored. So, that is what I found out.

You can call in and order it by phone, but they took it off the website.

They took it off the site. I called the order center and they said it was pulled because the rebate would not work for this item. I was still able to order it over the phone with the understanding the the rebate is no good.

over at phatty purse they are saying that you cant order it over the phone anymore to do in store pick up. They are saying the rebate wont work and are taking it off the site..

the price sticker will have refurbished marked on it. but they do have upc 's on their refurbs. I bought a smc 4004bvr for $20 and send in for a $30 rebate

I don't think that my calling could have caused this. It was less than 3 minutes after I called that the item was pulled. In anycase, the item comes in retail box, with all accessories. So I think if you have a copy of the rebate you can still get it. The rebate center said they honor the rebate regardless of the purchase price.
