Kreggo,
Just keep in mind there is about a 50% chance we actually get the 445PRO and not the 445Xi.

If they had not specifically listed the model number 445P259 which apparently corresponds to the older 445xi I wouldn't be worried!

Possible scenario:
Some refurb dealer says, I will sell you a bunch of 21" Nokias for $200 each.
Yea, we will take them. Some unknowing worker sees the model number on the back. He starts searching for specs on the net for a nokia 21" and gets redirected to the viewsonic site. Finds the only thing that comes close to 445 which is the pro model. Copies, pastes and here we are.

Please buy.com prove me wrong!

I'm expecting a Pro, that's what the description is for. Guess I'll just return it if it's not.

I called Buy.com CSR, and she couldnt verify which one it actually is, but
told me there is a 14 day return policy on Clearance Store products.

She said they would probably handle return shipping if it not what I thought it was when I
ordered [product discrepency].

Guess I'll chance it . Give myself 1:5 odds its a 445PRO.

I also called buy.com and they told me that I'd have to wait till monday to know the real model number since the warehouse is closed. I guess I will wait till monday and hope that there are some monitors left.

The xi states a maximum resolution of 1600x1280. Buy.com states a maximum resolution of 1800 x 1440. It CANNOT be the Xi. If they deliver you an XI, call your credit card company and you have a legitimate claim for a chargeback.

Well, I ordered 2, so I can replace my 19" dual monitor setup. If these turn out to be the crappy old monitor, they will definately go back.

It's definitely worth the risk since buy.com has a great return policy. If it's not as advertised they will send you a ups sticker for return at their costs.
Just a hassle that's all. But I'm good at returns after all the Staples returns I've made because of pricing/description errors.

Always contact buy.com and follow their instructions.

Their is an option on your recent order for return. Just go to your account/order page and you will see a link for return on that particular order.

Do not buy refurbished monitors!! If it was so bad that it had to be fixed, imagine how bad it is now that it went back to the manufacturer, did something to it, shipped back to the selling company, and then they will ship it back to you. You will end up with a monitor jellow in the box

Go to www.ReviewFinder.com - that's a really awesome sight to read about various products. Don't buy anything until you check it out there. I bet there is something there about this monitor, too.

I agree, buy.com has great return policy for an online store. Called their support number, was on hold for less than a minute. Gave the CSR my order number and reason for return. They emailed me an RMA and link to a UPS return label. Just print it out, tape it to the original box, write the RMA number on it, and hand it over to UPS. In this case it was for a faulty drive, shipped it out and had a new one in exactly one week.

VBboy, I dissagree with you on buying refurbs. I just got the 17" Dell refurb from Buy.com and it is BEAUTIFUL! Flawless display. Buying refurb is OK if you can trust the seller. Buy.com has a pretty good return policy and the customer support folks I have dealt with there were curteous and knowledgable. I did not have to return my monitor, just had a little trouble with the price that came up when I "checked out". They took care of it.
Caution is good, especially with refurbs, but I think this deal is safe IF this is the PRO monitor not the Xi model.
I decided to hold off on this deal cuz there is too much uncertainty as to which model this realy is. After seeing just how good a monitor can look (That Dell 17" I mentioned above) I have no use for low quality monitors and the Xi model sounds like doo-doo.
I hope you guys who orderd do get the PRO model. I'll stick to my original plan of waiting to buy my next display when I can get an 18" LED flat panel under $500

Good luck Kreggo.. At the way things are going the wait shouldn't be longer than 6 months. Unless all these etailers go out of business(very luckily)...

To settle the question of whether or not the stock tracker works, someone should order 93 monitors. If the order goes through then we definately know that something isn't working.

Hm.. I think the deal is dead..
I called the CSR and they said most likely it's the 445xi, and that even if you order now, you can still return the monitor when it arrived if it was not the one you thought it was .. I just cancelled as a result of the call. Also I asked her how come the number remanining doesn't chagne even after I ordered and she said that the real time stock count is often not updated on teh w/e.

So much for a hot deal I see a lock coming...

Congratulations on the one who got in....

My order says sent to Warehouse.
The returns are easy if it isn't what I ordered.

Now I need to knock a hole in the wall to push that thing back a little.
