FYI

if you get a version WITHOUT the digital port, and you call nintendo, they swap it out for one with a dig port and a full 1 year warranty

What is this digital port you speak of?

models that are dol-101 and newer no longer has a digital output. So no component output. you'll be stuck with at best svideo.

I have never heard however of nintendo swapping out for the older models. which seems strange though. guess it doesn't cost them that much.

you can read it hear from nintendo themselves.

If only game cubes were moddable. I just cant afford spending 50 per game right now so my modded xbox fits the bill for me.

pfft, modded gamecube... seems like a pain in the ass.

with a network adapter, pso, and psoemu_x86 I can boot my gamecube into pso, connect to my pc running the server, allowing me to download disc images (usually 1.2gb) and run the images over my network off my pc virtually flawlessly. occasionally some games develope choppy sound or long load times since the gamecube network adapter is capped at 10mbit, but the minidvd's aren't particularely fast either, maybe 25mbits on the outer edge.

there, a modded gamecube for the price of a 30 dollar network card and a 20 dollar game. provided you have a network and a pc, it works pretty well for a 50 dollar 'mod' you dont need to open your console for.

I only condone it to the extent that you get to TRY the game before committing. If you enjoy the game, if you play it regularly..pay for it! I've got well over 300 retail console games (probably with 50 of them still sealed, LOL The developers work hard, they deserve your money!

nice. I had a hard time finding them that I gave up and figured there's only 5 titles I play on the cube so 30 for the components wasn't worth it.

it so ridiculous that on ebay they are going for 50+ bucks. current high is 91 dollars.

There are better ways of getting the games you want rather then stealing them. Play 6 month behind the times like I do and buy all your games used for less then half the price. Sell old games you're no longer using.. etc etc

and here is the best option of all.. stay in school, get good grades, and get a good paying job.. I know tough concept for he "me me me" crowd. God forbid you cant have everything you want NOW..

unreal

or buy them new, play them out and turn around and sell them while the price is still up

pirating is one thing, but posting and whining that you cant is pretty lowlife

Are they the same price in the mall stores? 'Cause I'd just as soon walk into a store, pay and leave happy with a console....and probably a couple of pre-played games.

Not sure if it is still the same deal, but Costco had the Gamecube with extra controller for $69.99 earlier this month.

I've played Metroid with and without Progressive scan and I'm glad I have the cables. (I bought direct from Nintendo for @ $35)
