Sounds like they've changed their method of charging customers which is a good thing. But they still don't explain why it takes them soooooooooooooo long to fill orders...inquiring minds want to know!!!

No more VAIO laptop on their website either...

HAHA...that is funny. I am still sueing them. Im getting this thing if it costs me 10,000 dollars for the way i've been treated and lied to. Ethics in my opinion has no cost, and thats how far ill go to see these people are made aware of what they have done. Good thing I live 40 min away in Ohio and have a FREE campus lawyer.

Gotta love those deals!

This is what I heard from a friend who talked to them. They sell to educational institutions and thus get a big discount from Sony, HP etc.
Apparently Sony found out they were selling to others too .... Anyway, I cancelled my order and they promptly credited back my CC (thr' PayPal).

Good, that info might be useful in court....that is, unless someone in the company decided it wise to just chalk this one up and send me the top.

They raised their laptop prices to $725 and $925, used to be $500.

And I work at a educational institution and we get no discounts from Sony, Dell, Toshiba or whatever for hardware. We pay the same prices everyone else does.

I am sorry but why would you want to waste your trying to sue them? You knew from the get go that this was a scam and in no way a legit company.

you should be getting some sort of discount, especially if you order in quantity. talk to their sales reps and supervisors and i'm sure you will be able to work out something, even if it's only like 10%.

Because they ARE a legitimate company and they DO deal with schools and other institutions. So there business practices SHOULD be backed by security, and if I send them my hard earned cash, they will deliver in decent time a product. They have not done that and that is why I am interested in this matter.

Are we still talking about this company? This is the biggest JOKE I have ever seen. The thing I don't understand is why this guy hasnt been arrested yet. He should be in Jail with all this bad business. Don't you all think the same. Has any one of you received a laptop?

Then you are getting ripped. We buy stuff from Dell all the time and get an educational price.....

edit: tax free as well

Isn't this the same company that had the super cheap RAM last year and had a hard time honoring thier sales? As it took me forever to get mine(although he sent an extra stick 128 for free), and I had to complane to Yahoo before I got an answer. I swore I would NEVER buy from them again!! End of story.

LOL, I tried to order a hard drive cheap from them last year and they didnt deliver so I started complaining, finally I emailed Terry directly (found his email address) and he said that he would refund my money but he couldnt refund to my credit card because their credit card processing service got terminated & they had switched to paypal - so he needed my paypal address to send my refund (which he did). Now he is dissing paypal and switching back to direct credit card processing?

When I was trying to get someone on the phone all I ever got was a voice message that everyone in the office had the flu and to call back the next week.....what a joke. No one ever answered my email until I emailed Terry directly and threatened to do a credit card chargeback.

I pricematched Sears to GPS Computers and got the Sony Vaio for $525. It took me some time but I got it. I started the pricematch procedure on the 12th of December and finally got it approved late January.

There was a $50 rebate and a free memory upgrade from Kingston.

Pretty sweet deal...

While I did not purchase a laptop from these guys, I know several people (including my CCNA instructor) who placed a $100.00 deposit down to purchase the HP. I live literally 5 minutes from this place. They let 'walk-ins' put a deposit down to 'hold' a computer. Balance is due upon pickup. I know of one person who actually received an HP laptop (for $500). Other than that...nobody else has recieved one (that I know of). They do have a 'store' which is in a small business center. It's very small with a couple of desks in it and thats about it. The people are nice and apologetic. My instructor has been promised an Omni-book with about the same hardware in place of the other HP that they can no longer get (we'll see). I do know for a fact that they received over 1,000+ orders in the past 4 months!!! There is no way they can meet that demand! One thing to their credit though is they ARE refunding the money upon request so I don't think they are trying to rip people off.

These guys remind me of the UPS comercial where the small business is starting online and they get a few orders (and everyone is happy), then a hundred (and everyone is ecstatic) and then 1000's of orders (and everyone is like....holysh!t....how are we gonna do that?!?) in a few minutes. Quite funny. I think they bit off more than they were ready to chew and just didn't 'turn it off' when they should have.

Anyway....."that's about all I have to say about that"

Nice people...good company...suck it up. Business is about ethics and responsibility. I order, you supply, we build a relationship.

Ordering and ignoring the customer under any circumstance other then emergency is BAD BUSINESS. Falsifying information to the customer is ILLEGAL business. "Oh you will have your order by Friday" said 5 times with no intent to deliver seems like unfair business practice to me and most judicial systems.

Its called 'breach of contract'

I dont want to hear how nice these people are and how they got overwhelmed. Show some freaking responsibility for your actions.

I was a little surprised to see these guys still around. They are scammers period. They got "overwhelmed" several months back on the memory deal and weren't able to fufill orders, there is no excuse for it to happen again. They lied to us, manipulated us, and I think they stole money from the people who didn't want to go through the hassle of fighting it. When I went to my bank weeks after I had made the purchase, my bank scolded me for waiting so long before turning in the paper work and told me if I waited another week or two it would have been too late to dispute. I think that is the reason they drag people along with fake promises.
