Hi all,

If logic plays any role in this i would presume i wouldn't need to install windows again as the B3 P67 chipset is the same as the bugged chipset without the bug. So all the drivers should be the same as today (i just reinstalled windows 7 today)

I thought i might as well throw this question out here anyway in case i'm wrong?

When i recieve my new B3 P67 motherboard do i need to reinstall windows 7 again?

logically speaking of course, you wouldn't. you might want to download the latest chipset drivers before you switch and then apply them after you do put in your new mobo. of course there are those illogical beings who jump at any chance to format/reinstall to clear out the cobwebs (dirty registry e.g.).

Awesome guys thanks . I did a fresh install today as i recieved my SSD back after the last one died. So it should be fresh enough for when i recieve my new B3 board.

Either way this saved me some time . I appreciate the replies.

Only thing I had to do with the P8P67 swap was re-activate Windows and NIS.

And, push come to shove, if you are prompted to re-activate Windows, it's an easy process. I live in Thailand, so my only reasonable (i.e. affordable) option was to use a local toll-free re-activation via pushing keys on a touch-tone phone, and though tedious for about 60 seconds, was simple enough.

I just went from an x58 to a P67 and did a "plug and pray" mobo swap on Vista 64 bit --- no problems at all. Windows even kindly auto reinstalled video and audio drivers. Of course, ya gotta re-activate windows.

I went from a P965 board to a P43 (big jump) and did not have toe reinstall my Win7. Just updated the drivers and that was it.
