I'm relocating from Chicago to NYC and taking the entire week off next week to look for an apartment full time. From what I've read, I have my hands full.
Best case scenerio would be to find an apartment by myself and bypass a broker. However, without any connections there, the outlook is dim for that...
Do you guys have any tips for me to try to find an apartment myself w/o paying a broker fee? I'm not sure I want to pay 15% of annual rent just to sign an apartment lease...
I'm looking for a small studio or 1 bedroom apartment in lower west Manhattan, for around $2,000 (Greenwich/West Village, SoHo, Chelsea, etc.). Any tips would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
