Remember fellas, this is about $6 billion being a waste of money so totally worth it. Dig those heels in!

Again with this bullshit. Its about a mental midget (the president, not you this time) who is afraid of looking like a giant pussy (again the president, not you this time) because people on tv talk to him and tell him will be a pussy if he doesn't do what they say (not sure if this is president or you).

That was not his assertion from the get go, and the article calls bullshit on the claim anyways, surprise surprise.

Irregardless, my point is you are misrepresenting the statement "Mexico will pay for it".
They call bullshit on how he thinks money works, but at least they know what he's trying to claim in the first place.

That was not his claim Everytime, or from the beginning. See, here's where Trump's deal making style comes into play. He thrives on bullshit claims, chaos, and confusion. By the time he's done talking, nobody even knows wtf they're getting. I dont need to "misrepresent" him, he does it all by himself.

Maybe an old question BUT... who originally "tied" the government funding i.e. shutdown to funding the wall? How was it that funding for THE WALL hinged on funding the government?
Who dreamed up that connection?
Because if we are quibbling about responsibility for the shut down, the strike, the kick in the ass or whatever Trump wants to call it those responsible for linking government funding to the wall funding THEY are fully to blame.

God.... if ONLY democrats had taken the senate too during the last election, and by the same sweeping margins as they took the house.
THEN Donald Trump would be singing a different tune. And the government would be open for business.
Frankly, I don't get it?
How the house could so easily go to the democrats yet the senate remained republican?
I still think someone, something, some outside forces are messing with our election process.
Its either the Russians or that right wing conspiracy Hillary spoke of.
But something just seems very odd.

Whatever it was and or still is, something smells of high corruption.
Some major tinkering within our voting process.
Really.... if that were the case would THAT surprise anyone?
If the Soviets could hack into emails and Facebook and social media as intrusive as they did, who's to say the damage doesn't go far beyond what we suspect?
Right to the core of how we cast our votes and how those votes are eventually counted?

Everything these days is done via a computer, and hacking definitely does involve invading then corrupting a computer.
We have paperless voting, many states with no paper backup, nothing to prove a legitimate cast vote was actually a legitimate counted vote.
As weird as things are today and have been the last few election cycles, outside AND inside hacking and tampering would explain it. And would explain how a minority could elect someone like Donald Trump.
Yes, something is not right in Denmark.
Oh, oh.... and add to the strangeness where we now have an entire political party in congress sitting back and ignoring it all. Not giving one iota what this Trump guy does, says, the laws he breaks, or the lies he tells.
Now THAT is very weird!!!!

Trump needs the wall for his ego as we know but I wonder how much of this show is to make a talking point, however bad it looks for him, to distract from things like Schiff providing full transcripts to Mueller to see if witness lied to Congress? That could put Kushner and others in trouble. We can also bet that these same people will be called back to testify and asserting privilege based on "well I have it" could wind up with a contempt charge.

President Trump reportedly opened a meeting Friday with congressional leaders with an incendiary profanity laced rant before saying he preferred the word “strike” to refer to the ongoing government shutdown.

https://thehill.com/homenews/admini...-meeting-with-lawmakers-said-he-preferred-the

He's going to attempt spinning this as a worker-organized work stoppage? Or he's just too stupid to know what a strike is. He's such a business expert perhaps he can elaborate who is exactly on "strike". The reality is Trump is the one on strike.

This is his ego raging out of control. This "wall" was going to be his legacy. A monument to his "greatness". He doesn't care about anything but himself. Grandpa with dementia raging. He called Kevin McCarthy "Steve" twice. Time to take his car keys away.

Gotta love the tweet-

How do you impeach a president who has won perhaps the greatest election of all time, done nothing wrong (no Collusion with Russia, it was the Dems that Colluded), had the most successful first two years of any president, and is the most popular Republican in party history 93%?

Completely fact-free disinformation. Some people are saying that the chocolate ration has been increased, too.

Trump knows he needs the wall to get re-elected in 2020. This has become his albatross around his neck regarding his job approval with his base. If Dems don't want any chance of a Trump re-election, they must stop him from getting this wall at any cost. No trades for anything else or Donnie gets re-elected. This can take take him down with his base like nothing else can, even the Mueller report.

Trump did, and the Republicans have backed him on it. Here is how you can know. House Democrats have passed a bill that disconnects the wall funding from the rest of the budget. They passed a bill that will fund every government agency except DHS, which is where the budget for the wall would go, and then did a separate CR that would fund DHS until February to give everyone time to negotiate something. This bill would effectively get 90% of the US government working again, and still allow Trump and the Republicans negotiate for the wall, but Trump said he would not sign it, and the Republicans refused to allow it to be voted on in the Senate.

At this point it is hard to see this as anything other than Trump holding the US Government hostage to get his wall. This bill is an attempt by Democrats to be reasonable. Trump and the Republicans do not want reasonable, they want fear and anger.

Nice compilation vid

-Hillary: Supported border wall
-Obama: More border security, illegals must speak English, go to back of line
-Schumer: Border walls work
-Reid: Offering benefits to illegals = insane
-Feinstein: US can't be Mexico's welfare
-Clinton: Illegal immigration is wrong

Shows just about complete disconnect from what republican voters thought was going on.

Wait I thought Democrats wanted open boarders with terrorists flowing thru them and were soft on immigration?

I am kind of mystified at how the admin has latched on to this concept of saying they want a steel wall instead of a concrete wall as if that was somehow a concession to the Democrats. It just defies belief.

The Dems just aren't going to appropriate a cent for this without major immigration gives.

If he can spin one up out of one continuous piece of flawless graphine I might go along because I want that. By the time technology permits that though I suspect Trump won't be asking for a wall.
