How many times can Trump go "I won't sign" "Yes I will" "No, I won't!" before we all just agree to stop listening to him?

I mean look at Syria yesterday... this is elementary relative to the decision made yesterday in such a precipitous way right, I mean you’re talking about a major policy decision made in the same manner right so this is something that whatever happens we all know we’ll move beyond. What happened yesterday in Syria which is a similar kind of decision making process is going to affect things things for the long haul.”
Reporter: What is the path forward on the CR though?
Corker: “I don’t know. Y’all have fun. I’m getting ready to drive to Chattanooga.”
Reporter: What’s the guidance from leadership?
Corker: “They have no guidance ... I saw senators heading out going home knowing that even if we vote they’re going to give folks time to get back ... I think they’re just sorta swirling around over there”
Then Ted Cruz walked by and said: “I think we need to follow through with funding for the border”
Corker laughed again: “You can’t make this stuff up”
Well he’s desperately trying to label it a Democrat shutdown this morning so time will tell. So much for being proud to take ownership of it.cheeto threatened that either Dems give him his wall or the government will shut down for a very long time....I wonder how long it will be before the GOP give in and help override cheeto's veto?

This GOP house is nothing but subservient when it comes to Trump so that's not going to happen. The bill with $5B in wall money will fail in the Senate and the government will shut down until the new year when the next congress is seated. The Dems will pass a clean CR as the first order of business then the ball is back in the orange asshole's court.
Unless this happens: Senator pushes nuclear option.

McConnell is not really the person who truly gets to decide this. It mostly comes down to Senators such as Jeff Flake, Susan Collins, Lisa Murkowski, Rand Paul and the like. (With a number of Republican Senators potentially worried about a loss of power and influence if the filibuster is abolished on top of other issues.)Oh, well. He wouldn’t lie.
McConnell is not really the person who truly gets to decide this. It mostly comes down to Senators such as Jeff Flake, Susan Collins, Lisa Murkowski, Rand Paul and the like. (With a number of Republican Senators potentially worried about a loss of power and influence if the filibuster is abolished on top of other issues.)
Even assuming they are all willing to show up for the vote, it only takes two Republican Senators saying no to abolishing the filibuster to cause the nuclear option to fail. (Resorting to the nuclear option in this way and publicly failing would be an especially ugly result politically for the Republicans.)
I don't think they have enough Senators to go along even if they did that. Especially after Trump fucked them all by having Pence tell them he'd sign, saying so himself, then changing his mind at the last minute because Ann Coulter and Fox News said bad things about him.Unless this happens: Senator pushes nuclear option.
Prediction: Senate goes nuclear and when the Dems manage to recapture the Senate, the lame duck GOP reinstates all filibuster power on the way out the door, and the incoming Democrats leave it all in place. Well according to our administrator with Tuesday and now Monday being federal holidays our agency won’t officially furlough folks until Wednesday. Basically only critical exempt work will be going on anyway.
This is a bad time of year for a potentially lengthy shutdown. Paychecks will not go out and it will require congress to pass legislation for back pay (although they usually do). Plus Christmas bills and around here property taxes are due it’ll be a crunch for anyone living paycheck to paycheck.
To the hundreds of thousands of federal employees who will work without pay or be furloughed over the holidays if there is a government shutdown, Rep. Mark Meadows (R-N.C.) says it is just part of the risk of working in public service.
Meadows, the chairman of the House Freedom Caucus and a leading conservative voice urging President Trump not to accept a short-term spending bill absent funding for a border wall, was responding to reporters who asked about Transportation Security Administration and Border Patrol agents who would be required to continue working on Christmas without getting a paycheck.
“It’s actually part of what you do when you sign up for any public service position," Meadows said. "And it’s not lost on me in terms of, you know, the potential hardship. At the same time, they know they would be required to work and even in preparation for a potential shutdown those groups within the agencies have been instructed to show up.”
