I agree, except for the solution part. The wall is the most expensive option, yet will do nothing about the majority of illegals preferring airports or majority of drugs smuggled via legal entry points.

It's an expensive and foolhardy bubble suit for the feels, and if the republicans were truely the 'party of defense,' of 'fiscal responsibility' this would have been dropped as another campaign lie years ago.

We can get better security for less money, and faster.

Walls are ~bronze-aged solutions to keep foot or horse-bound armies out of your territory...but of course, they still never worked.

Conservatives are funny in this regard. Well, not funny--Fucking retarded. Seriously: anyone that supports this wall is a certified moron.

a border wall does not equal border security

Then why does Hillary tout how she repeatedly voted to fund it then?

It’s not a silver bullet but the amount of help it provides is certainly greater than zero. A wall coupled with ending the war on drugs coupled with border tech coupled with e verify coupled with real fines and loss of business licenses for hiring illegals solves our problems.

Edit: coupled with amnesty for illegals currently here with no criminal record

Oh you mean the immigration reform bill dems passed in 2013? Yeah, I supported that bill, Republicans? Not so much.

Two years, full control, ZERO IMMIGRATION AND BORDER BILLS PASSED.

If you haven't figured it out yet, immigration reform and border security is simply a rallying point to get Republicans to the polls. Republican voters are that stupid that they fall for it every election cycle.

K. Republicans are stupid, I don’t really disagree. You said a wall doesn’t equal border security but it seems Hillary disagreed to some extent. It provides a barrier where one didn’t exist before. The protection provided isn’t fool proof but neither is locking our doors but I bet you still do.

It’s not a silver bullet but it’s better than doing nothing and that’s what I don’t think the left is explaining to the right very well. The right doesn’t think it impenetrable either, but they certainly see it as better than nothing. So why not? Forgo a jet or two and build a damned wall.

Your stupidity continues to amaze me. Just because you aren't capable of discerning the difference between a barrier and a wall and you don't understand the context of why one was supported over the other, doesn't mean everyone else is just as clueless.

Even a fvcking moron would rather have people talking about a temper tantrum instead of his collusion with Russians during the election. Just make the tantrum about a hot button issue with the mindless base and voila, a nice frothy path away from the talk of conspiracy and treason.

Hoping Cohen doesn't experience a sudden violent bout of polonium reflux. I'm really looking forward to what he spills, not to mention the subsequent twitter meltdown.

Again, I'm amazed! Just when I think you've gotten as dumb as possible, you show us a new level of stupidity.

The reason the Democrats have consistently offered up immigration reform and increased border security is because they actually care about the problem. How do we know they care? Because they don't support ineffectual policies like a border wall and they consistently offer up real solutions and not SYMBOLIC gestures designed not to solve issues but are instead put forth to placate their stupid, stupid base.

So why did Hillary tout how she voted for one repeatedly?

And your answer didn’t really address it. You called me stupid for not knowing that the difference between a wall and a barrier is the length (I disagree there is any difference other than splitting hairs in your head) but never really addressed it beyond that. Jhhnn either for that matter.

I don't think it's much of a risk for them personally. The deck will be so stacked against Democrats that the GoP will have secured minority rule. Even if the Dems ever take the white house and pull a stunt like this those same Trump picked judges chosen for their loyalty would probably just rule against a Democrat president doing the same thing. Rules for thee but not for me. The GoP absolutely would, and could, pull it off.

And that is why we need every administration official and judicial pick impeached.

I'd support that in a heartbeat. The stain of Putin and Trump needs to be washed away from our government. Anyone pissed at losing unfit partisans from office can direct their outrage to the traitor, maybe look in a mirror while they stfu.

Was she wrong to vote for that? I’m not talking about whether she won the election so try not to use that as a deflection, do you support her decision to cast several votes in favor of it?

“Illegal Immigration is wrong, plain and simple. Until the American people are convinced we will stop future flows of illegal immigration, we will make no progress.” - Schumer, 2009

“We simply cannot allow people to pour into the United States undetected, undocumented and unchecked” - Obama, 2005

“I voted numerous times when I was a senator to spend money to build a barrier to try to prevent illegal immigrants from coming in. And I do think you have to control your borders.” - Clinton, 2015

"We now have an actual humanitarian crisis on the border that only underscores the need to drop the politics and fix our immigration system once and for all," - Obama

“The first of these seven principles is that illegal immigration is wrong, plain and simple,” Schumer said. “When we use phrases like ‘undocumented workers,’ we convey a message to the American people that their government is not serious about combating illegal immigration, which the American people overwhelmingly oppose.”
“People who enter the United States without our permission are illegal aliens, and illegal aliens should not be treated the same as people who entered the United States legally,” Schumer continued. “Any immigration solution must recognize that we must do as much as we can to gain operational control of our borders as soon as possible.”
- Shumer 2009

These quotes have been going around for a few days. Except on lib news, because it goes against their agenda. There are many, many, many more too. Now the term illegal alien (lawful term) is "hurtful" and wrong. Laws should matter, and stating facts should as well.

Literally every high ranking, and even low ranking Dem has wanted and supported a wall, more border security, were against illegal immigration and tougher laws against them, and recognized the problem at the border. NOW suddenly its fiction and they want open borders. Because Trump wants it. Nevermind the women and children (which Dems claim to care about in shootings) who get abused, and the drugs that come into our country. The hypocrisy that the Dems continually demonstrate is really just embarrassing.

I know, I know. I will get attacked over this, called names, and other nonsense for stating facts and using their own words against them. When there isnt an argument to be made, that is what happens.

Your quotes don't say anything about Walls.

All you've proven is that Democrats have been focused on securing the border (successfully) meanwhile Trumpers are focused on seizing private land, cutting ourselves of from the Rio Grande, and wasting billions of dollars for dumb campaign chants, when the money could be better spent fixing roads.

You know, shit that's actually useful.

Joshua Tree National Park has been vandalized and trashed during the shutdown.

https://www.vox.com/the-goods/2019/1/10/18177478/joshua-tree-national-park-government-shutdown

A week ago, Joshua Tree National Park in Southern California was forced to shut down its campgrounds due to “health and safety concerns over near-capacity pit toilets,” according to CNN.

But despite the partial closure, things continued to get worse.

According to National Parks Traveler, visitors are creating illegal roads and driving into some of the park’s most fragile areas. They are also chopping down trees, setting illegal fires, and graffitiing rocks. With Joshua Tree being roughly the size of Delaware, the eight on-duty law enforcement rangers had no way to stop all the prohibited activity.

“We had some pretty extensive four-wheel driving around the entire area to access probably our most significant tree in the park,” Joshua Tree superintendent David Smith told National Parks Traveler. “We have this hybrid live oak tree that is deciduous. It is one of our kind of iconic trees inside the park. People were driving to it and camping under it. Through the virgin desert to get to this location.”

On Tuesday, Smith announced the park would close indefinitely due to the damage. However, this measure was rolled back on Wednesday by federal officials, who said they will use the Federal Land and Recreation Enhancement funds to restart park maintenance and address sanitation issues.

Joshua trees are already facing possible extinction, with scientists claiming that the Joshua Tree habitat will be lost to climate change by 2100. Smith told National Geographic in October, “We’re just in crisis mode right now.” Twenty days into the government shutdown, vandals are accelerating the trees’ demise.

It is a pretty big risk for them to take. What happens if the case goes before of of Trump's hand picked judges that were picked on the basis of loyalty and that the GOP has been shoved through primarily to rig the court system in their favor? That judge could find that The Constitution has no requirement for what is an 'emergency' and it can be anything the President says it it. Then they have just effectively handed a crown to the President with no real way to pull it back.

Trump will have to seize thousands of acres of private land though eminent domain to build his wall.

The landowners will fight back, this will end up in courts for years, and they will have a credible case that the gov (Trump) was using his powers illegally and the land can't be taken.

Meanwhile, as the lawyers fight, nothing gets done.

Dumb as brick trumpanzees believe the wall is built, but who gives a fuck, they are 32% and everyone else hates DJT, and he loses reelection.

D president comes in, cancels the project, gives the land back to its rightful owners, and melts the steel slats down for bridge repairs.
