Remote Desktop Connection

Ok, I've got 2 win9x computers and one winxp laptop. I was trying to use Remote Desktop Connection to remotely connect to the 2 win9x computers, but then realized that it requires winxp for each computer. I just want to be able to control stuff on my other computers from my winxp laptop--for example play mp3's from my laptop, yet the sound comes out of my main computer's speakers. I know this is possible b/c it lists it under the Remote Desktop Connection configuration panel, its just that it looks like I need multiple versions of winxp (or possibly even winxp pro) to do this.

So does anybody possibly know a way around this? Or maybe some free software that I could DL to do what I'm wanting to do?

Two that I use. MS Netmeeting works great. Also VNC works good too, but I am not sure on all the security for VNC. If you have a live IP address I would stick with Netmeeting. Free download at microsoft if it is not preinstalled on XP.

those are all remote-desktop clients made by various companies. VNC is freeware I believe.

its a small 200kb ap, once online the 2 can share pc's easily
