Remote desktop error in WinXP SP1

Hello folks, I got a question for ya. I hope you can answer it.
I am able to use the RDP feature with my XP SP1.
But TOO frequently I am getting this error msg, 'Because of an error in data encryption, this session will end. Please try connecting to the remote computer again."
I get this about once every minute. Sometimes I can use it little bit longer but most of the time I can't even do a simple operation.
Anyone know how to fix this? I've been browsing around but I am unable to find a solution.

What kind of connection are you using?
What OS are you using for the client and server?
Is there any kind of firewall running?

I am on a cable modem.
And both are XP Pro.
My home PC is the server and it's behind linksys router firewall.
And I forwarded the port 3389.
I have no problem connecting but once I connect the error msg pops up very frequently.

What connection setting are you using? It's definitely worth turning off all the detail such as backgrounds and themes etc...

What connection is the client using? Is there any kind of firewall there?

Just to make sure also, try updating your NIC drivers. Something small like that can lead you in circles for no good reason. If you have a spare NIC swap em out also. One at a time.

I've tried all the things that people here have suggested so far and nothing worked.
Anyone else have any other ideas?
This is making me very mad. Basically, I cannot connect to my computer for more than a minute w/o getting disconnected. :|
