Below is the error

VBScript: Remote Desktop Disconnected

The client could not connect to the remote computer. Remote
connections might not be enabled or the computer might be too busy to
accept new connections. It is also possible that network problems are
preventing your connection. Please try connecting later. If the
problem continues to occur, contact your administrator.



here's the facts. I have a custom port on the firewall opened up. Even set at 3389 does the same. The port is forwarded to the static internal address of the RDP "server". Remote Desktop (and assistance) are enabled. No other software firewall (including XP's) are running.

When I go to Http://WAN IP address Port/tsweb I get to the remote desktop web connection screen. I click connect & I get a blank white screen for about 10 seconds before the error appears. Any Ideas??

What happens when you try with a standard terminal session, not using a web browser?

Try to lower your MAX MTU settings on your router. Lower it slowly and test, you might have a 'black hole' router?

Might be worth a shot.

Permissions are fine. KT, do you mean using the RDP cleint? How would that work with the computer being on a totally seperate network. I can try and lower the MAX MTU. What exactly is a black hole router?

Hi JFG,

Try with the RDP or Terminal Services Client. Try to find out if the Terminal Services works as a service in its most basic form and then troubleshoot upwards.
Are you able to login on the local lan but not via the internet?

Use Terminal Services Manager, to check to see if anyone else is logging in via TS. IIRC you have 2 administrative connections before you typically get an error message saying the limit has been reached. Unless you get a license specifically for more connections. If you can't connect via TS Manager, go to the local machine and see if you can access services from host.

Lord, I will try the RDP client locally. I think I may need to also check the IIS logs. TGS I know no one else is connected because I'm the only one with access (when It worked before). This is happening when I added a VOIP device on my network. I had to get a new firewall to where the VOIP device was on a seperate LAN port. I also had to change the internal IP's of all devices on my network. I know i'm getting thru the firewall because I get the tsweb page, but I get the error when I try to connect.

When you access the webpage you are just getting to the port 80 default or perhaps port 8080. Unless you've specifically made the web services talk to another port. Like here.

You can also try:

mstsc /v:<server IP>:3389

Telnet or port scan beyond that for port 3389.
