Remove spray paint from vinyl?

A case for a guitar I bought has spray paint on it from the previous owner. This is of course a textured finish. Any ideas how to remove it? The reason I think it can probably be removed is because part of it has flaked off. But the rest doesn't seem to want to flake off. Would cold do it? I don't have a large deep freezer but what if I wait until it gets colder outside?

Plastic safe paint stripper will do it.

I would try a high percentage rubbing alcohol first (test on the case to make sure it doesn't damage or something). If that doesn't work, acetone. If that doesn't work, I'd ask Rubycon :awe:

Thanks for the recomendations. Tried 91% alcohol but it didn't really do anything.
Will acetone not eat the vinyl? Don't think mineral spirits will hurt it. Goof off eats some plastic, but don't know about this particular vinyl. It also has a really strong odor and I think a tiny can is not cheap.
Don't think simple green would do anything to spray paint.

Seems like some kind of brush wheel on a drill would eat it off.

Brakekleen should do the job.

Of course, it MAY also remove the vinyl, so if you go this way, test a small spot first.

Otherwise, goof-off, goo-gone and other similar products MAY work as well.

When all else fails, get a can of black spray paint and paint it all...
