Removing a Vantec Stealth = Increase in 10C. Is it necessary?

Before I start, I have OC'd my PC3200 to DDR430 (almost PC3500) at 2-2-2-11, and have a 215x10 on my mobile 2600 (effectively around a 3000+). Mobo is NF7-S v2.0.

I have 3 fans, a 92mm Vantec Stealth (CPU), 80mm Vantec Stealth (exhaust) and an 80mm Panaflo L1A (PSU). My video card and my NB are passively cooled using Zalman 47's (no fans).

I have two 4500rpm HDD's so they are quiet. I removed the exahust (80mm vantec) and my temps, as expected, went up.

From 3 fans, I had case being 30C, and CPU being 40C.
With the exhaust removed, I have case 40C, CPU 50C.
edit: with prime95 running for a good 2 hours, max temp looks like 54C. Still ok?

Is it alright to have slightly higher temps if it means just running two fans in my system? These temps ok? (I have OC'd a bit)

Even without the fan the temps seem fine, as long it is stable. The temps get much higher becuase the exhaust is the only way to move the hot air out of the case.

not familiar with your processor, but my XP3000+ runs almost exactly around your temps without the fans and I have an exhaust running. So I'd be happy and enjoy the quiet - my next build is going to really focus on quiet because I am sick of the noise of this rig with it's lousy QTEC PSU and extra fan..... I am even thinking about underclocking and taking fans out - but the PSU can only be fixed by replacement.

temps sound ok - aslong as theyre reasonably accurate (compared to temp readings generally anyway).
Maybe swap the stealth with another L1A or papst at 7v, to at least get a bit of draw to keep circulation going. Snip out any case-grills on the fan and replace with a wire one, so you get less airflow restriction and turbulence.

What video card you have? i take it nothing that would get particularily hot if a zalman northbridge cooler is on it.

Are you really ready to cook your rig at the sake of not having to listen to your rig try and cool itself. If the noise is that bad, then pop in some ear plugs. Sheesh!

Well, the temps aren't that bad. I'm running a GF3 Visiontek Ti200. I've stressed it out and I don't OC it, I'd rather have the silence (I'm not THAT into gaming anyways).

and yes, cut out the fan grills. unless they are really decent ones that allow free flow. mostly just help make a whooshing nosie
