I have a Dell laptop, that requires me to login every time I use it. I tried the netplwiz command that allows you to uncheck the box "users must enter a username and password to use this computer" After doing that it still requires me to login each time. I went as far as rechecking the box, rebooting then unchecking the box and saving, that did the trick for a couple of reboots and a Windows update, now it's back to asking for the password again.
Seems like the update, resets it but there is no check in the box to uncheck, just asking me to log in. Any ideas? I'm selling it to a friend and i'm sure they won't like the password/login
