Removing the login/paswword screen on Windows 10

I have a Dell laptop, that requires me to login every time I use it. I tried the netplwiz command that allows you to uncheck the box "users must enter a username and password to use this computer" After doing that it still requires me to login each time. I went as far as rechecking the box, rebooting then unchecking the box and saving, that did the trick for a couple of reboots and a Windows update, now it's back to asking for the password again.
Seems like the update, resets it but there is no check in the box to uncheck, just asking me to log in. Any ideas? I'm selling it to a friend and i'm sure they won't like the password/login

Both "control userpasswords2" and "netplwiz" fail to properly configure the win10 login screen, at least (for me) when using only a user name and no password (blank). It works properly only after a fresh Windows install from scratch, and somehow gets changed at a later point in time.
I'm guessing that it's probably related to some obscure registry setting that was changed by some 3rd party software.
With my dual-boot Win10/Win8.1/Win7 system, the Win8.1 & Win7 partition's login still function correctly, but Win10 partition has modified itself to now require a login name and password, regardless of any settings made with the above-mentioned configuration settings.
Another possible factor involved: option to join or leave the Win10 "Windws Insider" setting.

A simple reg file does the job. I also use Ultimate Windows Tweaker and WinAeroTweaker along with Classic Shell .. You can find all of them easily. Not sure which one has what but I know the options to get rid of the Logon Password is there as my laptop will login by itself when I boot it. You also have a bunch of other options you can tweak using these programs.

The dell does not have any security software that ships with it? I know for example HP used to ship with a password manager / security provider.

Its odds my Win10 at home works fine, and I had used either "control userpasswords2" and "netplwiz" and it saved even when updating to creators

Go to settings, then accounts. Change your account from a Microsoft account to a local account. (and remove the password).
