Installed system disk for an HP CD-Writer only to find that the included software was incompatible with XP. I uninstalled the software - or so I thought. Upon startup, XP gives me a balloon letting me know that an application or it's drivers (CD Recording software) may make XP unstable and therefore the "drivers or device" has been disabled.
I have since installed the updated software from HP (fully XP compatible) but still get the balloon on startup. I have looked in the usual places - although I am not a pro when it comes to the registry.
What set of loading instructions is XP attempting to follow through on and where are they located so I can edit or delete them?
(Just a note - the registry entries for Windows/Current Version/Run & Run Services are clean)
Thanks for the input!
