interesting. Water injection pre-throttlebody.
There is a BIG argument on the MR2 forums about where is the most ideal place to put water injection. Some say just after the intercooler, some say after the throttlebody as close to the cylinder (like an secondary injector for each) as possible. The guys that argue close to the cylinder use the premise that Formula cars inject post throttlebody. but, here it is shown pre-throttlebody. hmmmm.
Video sound = bonerific.
EDIT: Or is that fuel?
This years cars sound like tractors and most of the fans hate the new sound...

that's fuel injection above the butterfly. there is no water injection in f1, just optimised gasoline designed for that engine on that track. the ingredients are restricted to what's in pump gas in similar amounts. the injectors are normally covered by an airbox that generates 150% volumetric efficiency under normal aspiration.

they're quieter because of the turbos and hit 15k rpm, down from 18k. i've never heard a 15k turbo tractor, so i'll have to take your word on it. what you can take my word on is that most fans don't mind the new motors' sound, and the majority of the complaining comes from a small but very vocal minority. i actually like being able to hear all kinds of things going on and not just the scream of a hair dryer.
They don't even hit that. I think they're maxing out around 12,000rpms because of the fuel flow restrictions the FIA have placed on the teams.

Bernie Ecclestone has hinted that it wouldn't be out of the question to return to V8s.
Nov.10 (GMM) Mercedes has warned it will quit Formula One if moves to revive the old V8 era are successful.
...
Do they even show the tach in the onboard shots these days?
