rent.com free $100

rent.com is giving away $100 free if you report your lease to them. has anyone done this deal? I reported my lease about 6 weeks ago and im wondering how long till I get the reward.

But you have to find the apartment through them. Doesn't apply if you've already found a place (not through them), does it?

Rent.com actually gets a kickback if you buy off their site. Don't see how that is blowing up the bubble again.

Just a small reward if you use their site to sign a year contract with your next apartment complex.

One reason you might not want to do this: you could miss out on a much better kickback from the apartment complex itself (that rent.com gets instead of you).

My complex just offered me a $450 discount if I renew my 1-year lease at least 6 weeks before it expires. I've seen them advertising things like 1/2 to 1 month free + Xbox console (back when it was $200) to new renters.

DaveSimmons is totally right, but I still love rent.com and hope they're around forever. I do wish more smaller places would start using them, though. I did some searching earlier this year, and only the biggest complexes in the area I was looking were listed on the site. Although I did end up moving in to a place right next door to one I found through the website... ::

Takes them quite a while to pay.... but it's a nice deal. You do have to tell the apartment place you found them on rent.com and then report it to rent.com. They need to give you a incentive to report it which is why they give the $100... No apartment company would happily go pay rent.com if they didn't have to, they would never tell them. So they rely on you reporting it. But always ask about move-in specials before ever reporting rent.com, cause many times they will have a better deal, many times Ive seen 2-3 months rent free, or half price rent for 3-4 months.

When I was renting, I had already found a place I wanted and then found it on Rent.com. Yes, it did take them quite a while, but hey, it didn't cost anything! Anyway, I got my $100 in the form of a check, which was especially nice!
