Its a 3/4 Ton HD rental truck, what did you expect.
And yes the larger HD trucks get more plastic interior, its so it will hold up better. You think companies are going to pay extra so their guys can tear the sh_t out of a costly truck?
Heres a 3/4 ton GM interior if you went to the dealer.
The TPMS was probably not working because they changed the rims, maybe put on some duals. You get TMPS errors the minute you change rims and don't have the sensors installed in the new rims/or can't install the new sensors.
That alone makes his argument invalid.Uh, you're going to judge all modern Chevy pickups by a rental at a home improvement store?
He's trolling or just stupid or both. That rental truck basically gets hammered to piss Everytime it's started up. It's either pulling a 11,000 pound trailer, carrying a bed full of furniture, sod, etc.. with some smelly 300lb guy and four day laborers in the cab. I'd like to see how your Nissan holds up after being subject to that level of abuse. Trucks are for men.
You'd think he'd be expecting a Cadillac Escalade or something as the rental truck.
Yes Jules we all know you hate American vehicles and you hate trucks.
But complaining about a rental vehicle at a home imporvement store is retarded.
That's like saying the little scooters they rent at the beach suck because they don't compare to a Ducati.
Work trucks are made to work. Not be fancy status symbols.
I don't hate American vehicles. Hell, I almost bought one a couple weeks ago.
And fuck off, I already admitted that perhaps I was a little hard on the truck. Jesus H Christ...
ok...?I think we should top all cars out at 150hp. No reason to waste all that gas with a 300hp car. 150hp should be plenty for getting up to the topped out speed limiter which cuts you off at 70mph. No backseats either unless you can prove you have more than 2 in your family. You will be allowed a trunk for groceries and what not.
ok...?
I finally convinced my wife that we don't need the ability to cart a neighborhood around. Now two sedans, if we need 1-2 times/year to have a large vehicle we'll rent or borrow. The hell is with Americans they have a single kid and next day it's off to the dealership for a 7-8 seater vehicle, it's pathetic. It's like a nationwide hypnosis, how many families do you know with 2 or--oh God no--3 kids who only have the ability to carry those kids and not a ride on mower in the back at the same time? Very few if they have any money at all, they NEED that SUV or minivan you bet your ass.

Get outta my personal choices. I don't need a 300hp DD but I sure as hell love it.
He's entitled to his own opinion on your personal choices. Don't get so bent just because someone doesn't agree with you.

lolz this. My friend is an only child and his parents bought a minivan way back when. It was something like a 91 GM Safari or something. Long story short, it's now used as a work vehicle. They haul tools in the back because the actual work truck broke down and they don't feel like blowing a bunch of money on another truck :biggrin:I finally convinced my wife that we don't need the ability to cart a neighborhood around. Didn't read your unedited post, but I would assume it has your usual bias. Not everyone is a suburbanite that can nitpick their vehicles.
Sometimes, a person or group of people just need to move a bunch of shit somewhere else, bottom line. They don't have to impress their neighbors while doing it, they don't even need to be that comfortable inside the vehicle moving said shit, it just needs to be moved.
That is why these kinds of trucks are made, and probably will be for a long time.
I love trucks. They define my manliness.
