Repairing a Razer DeathAdder Mouse?

I'm not that great when it comes to tearing apart electronics.

I bought a Razer DeathAdder. It worked great the first night.
I woke up the next morning to find the DeathAdder dangling off my desk.
Darn cat. Turned the PC on, and it was working. Periodically. Appears a bite must have punctured a wire badly, as it will not stay connected.

Not a defect, no replacement. Is there a simple way to replace the USB Cord? Haven't actually opened it up yet. Wondering if its a simple fix, or just go buy a new one [40+ blah].

It depends on how badly the cable is damaged. If you examine it closely under light, can you tell where the puncture happened?

If you can clearly see where the cable is damaged, you may be able to [carefully!] remove the outer layer of insulation, and see which of the inner wires are damaged. From here you can re-connect the wires by soldering (best solution) or using crimp connectors.

If you can't see/feel any break in the line, then it seems more likely something else is wrong.

You can definitely see where the cable is damaged. Unfortunately theres three parts that are questionable.
Sounds a bit complicated for me, not to well with a soldering iron. Blah. Maybe sell for parts then. This is why I don't like cats
