Ok since none yous will scan your serial number for me just blur it out in photo shop and send me the picture. I'll write it in myself, with a crayon.

LOL you people are really uptight around here. :disgust:

really not uptight. it more of a "can't believe you dont have any money (0.10) to get a copy of your own mouse" thing.

anyways, best of luck to you

I have an old Intellimouse with Intellieye (the first ones they came out with), do you think this includes those mice? I had one prior to that and it worked for 6 months or so then started to act weird. I did what I always do with broken items, buy another one and refund the non functioning one in the new packaging. The new mouse worked for a few weeks and then I had this problem where the mouse was practically unusable because the wired would not stay in place to keep the connection. I have had it in my drawer for 2 or so years. I could not return this mouse because MS had just discontinued those mice and Best Buy no longer carried them.

Seriously, Long's Drugstores have copy machines for .05. I'll send you the nickel, but you have to pay postage.

Same problem here I'm going to try taking a picture of it with my webcam and then printing it out. Maybe that'll work better...my webcam is pretty good at close up shots.

I ended up using a flat bed scanner and then running the image through Photoshop's "photocopy" filter. I don't even think it was full photoshop ... just that crippled version they give with scanners.

I still have the box my MS Explorer (original) came in, and it has a big graphic on it that says "LIFETIME WARRANTY"...I don't know if all their mice have that warranty, but there's a chance

I copied the bottom of my mouse and I'm going to fax it tomorrow. I may have a new one by the end of the week

Just did mine at work last night. My boss loves me now! We have a whole closet full of junk that is dead, including about a dozen non-OEM microsoft mice of varyious types. If MS even accepts one of them the tight asses at work, should love me Thanks for the tip!

Ok I have tried scanning my mouse (it is a version 1.0A) but the product number is not visible. I need suggestions please. Can I still try to send them and cross my fingers?

I suppose I could peel the sticker off and copy that... but I am afraid I might rip it and then lose. And do I void the warranty by removing that sticker?

Any replies would be appreciated.

And I am not just taking advantage, my mouse has been acting up. The cursor decides when it wants to move... and then acts normal for months. All of a sudden it starts up again.

Did you see my previous post on this thread ... the best way I found was to put the mouse on a flat bed scanner and then run it through a "photocopy" filter on a graphics program. I used the stripped down version of Photoshop that they usually give with scanners and it worked great.

I faxed them the bottom of two broken mice. The Intellimouse was OEM, so I didn't get a replacement. They just replaced the cheapo "Basic Mouse", which is better than nothing. This is a $7 mouse without scroll wheel, so in my opinion, not very usefull. But it is new. Beggars can't be choosy.

Should i just call them up?
