Replaced Marvell SE9230 with SE9130, RAID1 Status Offline

My Marvell SE9230 using RAID1 configuration died. The voltage regulator is okay, output measures 1.8V, but the main IC does not get even luke-warm and no controller BIOS splash or ability to get into its menu. It seems completely dead.

So I replaced it with a spare Marvell SE9130 which is, to the best of my knowledge, a PCI x1 version of the 9230 and it should support RAID1 as well. I thought they should use the same proprietary RAID system. It detects my RAID virtual disk, but status is "Offline". There appears no way to make it online. If I select my virtual disk "New_VD", the only option I have is Erase.

Each individual drive shows status of "Configured". They have the same status except PD ID and Port ID of the other drive is 1 instead of 0.

Any way to make my virtual disk work with the new controller without losing data?

Is one of the drives detected okay when hooked up straight to the motherboard? If so, I would image and then experiment. Unfortunately in my experience, even a different BIOS version on the same controller causes this. The only option indeed is to erase the VD and create a new one I'm afraid.

The drives are detected okay by the motherboard controller, but no partitions are detected. Unfortunately, I had to accept that there is no way to make them "online" and work with the new controller.
Instead, what I ended up doing is connecting one of the drives to another computer and running AOMEI Partition Assistant to search the disk for missing partitions, of which it successfully found and restored all of them. Then I used Minitool Partition Wizard to change the partition IDs to their proper IDs (System EFI, Recovery, etc) as all partitions were restored as just GPT Data Partitions. Used 2 different partition utilities as one would do partition recovery for free, but not changing IDs while the latter could change IDs for free, but not partition recovery. Still wouldn't boot, but following standard instructions to rebuild BCD using a Windows installation disk made it able to boot. So now all is well, sans RAID.

Wow, glad you got your data safe and sound! I will keep that in my bag of tricks.
