I gave a 11 year old cousin my old P4 2.8GHz system w/ 1GB of RDRAM (PC1066) a few years ago.
The video card - a mighty Radeon 9700 Pro which I bought for $500 in 2002 - died recently, and I are trying to replace it with something decent so he can continue to game on it with a 15" LCD monitor.
I found this Diamond 4650 AGP from Newegg, and it has
320 Stream Processors
750MHz GPU Clock (REALLY? on a 4650?)
873MHz Memory Clock (I hope this means 1746MHz effective)
512MB GDDR3
128-bit Memory Inferface (not much more memory bandwidth than a 2002 9700 with slow DDR memory)
Is this a decent replacement?
or should I look for something else?
