My dell 700m is just about ancient technology, working on 7 years old and I'm looking to replace it. I haven't had any problems aside from the disk drive not working (which I don't use anyway).
Mainly I've been looking at the thinkpadx220 and dell xps15.
Found this for the thinkpad today
Intel Core i7-2620M Processor (2.7GHz, 4MB L3, 1333MHz FSB) USB 3.0
Genuine Windows 7 Professional 64
12.5" HD (1366x768) LED Backlit Display, Mobile Broadband Ready, 2x2 Antenna
Intel® HD Graphics 3000
4 GB PC3-10600 DDR3 SDRAM 1333MHz SODIMM Memory (2 DIMM)
No Fingerprint Reader
250 GB Hard Disk Drive, 5400rpm4
ThinkPad Battery 29+ (6 cell)
Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6205 (2x2 AGN)
and the sleeve for $1037.80 before tax/shipping. it would be $220 less with i5 and no usb3.0 but I would like the usb 3.0 for an external hard drive...
the only plus I could find on a xps was maybe better video card and disk drive and aesthetics but I would have to get it refurbished or it would cost more unless I can find some coupon to get the same price.
worth it?
