My brother has been using his computer for around two years now, and has never been able to use any drives on the 3rd and 4th IDE ports (RAID disabled) due to a problem with the board. I do NOT want to get into this here. I tried everything way back when - including RMAing the board -, and it is clearly some kind of incompatibility that can't be dealt with.
This hasn't really been an issue until now because I just set all the drives up master/slave on IDE 1 and 2. However, now I want to add another harddrive, and I need more IDE channels. I want to replace ONLY the motherboard, please.

Couple of 40gig 7200RPM HDDs

It's been so long ago, so I really need some suggestions for a good board that will work with this older hardware.
