Replacement for PGPdisk?

I was a very happy user of PGPdisk for securing files. I waited to upgrade to XP, waiting for a need to reinstall the OS. Recently 2k had a problem and I took it as an excuse to upgrade and have been happy with it but it doesn't work with PGPdisk. I had to send my encrypted disk to a friends 2k machine to get my files back.

Is there are good replacement for this?

If you're just worried about the security of things on your computer you can use WinXP's (and 2k) built in file encryption (EFS). I don't know too much about PGP, but if you're looking to move encrypted files around on different mediums EFS won't work that well (I think this is something that PGP is good at but correct me if I'm wrong). You can backup your keys from EFS but it's not a good system if you want to put encrypted files on a CD for example.

BTW, if you find a version of PGP that works on XP let me know. I had the unpleasent experience of installing the win2k version on my computer only to be met with disaster.

Most versions of PGP (file and email encryption) work okay on WXP.

PGP (Corporate only?) 7.11 has a PGPdisk that unofficially works on WXP. PGPnet does not, and should not be installed.

PGP 7.5 was officially supported for WXP, but NAI shut down the PGP software division and never released it.

EFS won't work. What I liked about PGPdisk is that the files were all in one place and they required a passphase to access but after that you could treat them just like another drive. When you are done, dismount it and then they are secure again.

PGP PS 7.0.3 has worked fine with Outlook 02 so far. Since microsoft sign's all its security bulletins with a pgp key wouldn't it make since that they push for fully compatable version of PGP for XP?
