replacement smary keys for toyota prius and corolla s

hey guys I lost my car keys for my prius and corolla S T_T. where can I buy a replacement smart keys?

Pep boys. j/k. If Pep boys or anyone else beside your toyota dealership sells smart keys, everyone will be messed up.

Keys will probably have to come from the dealer. Maybe try and find an online one that will sell below list price...local ones tend to have a habit of selling over MSRP...be nice and easy to work with and maybe they'll give you wholesale or something. Or you can be sneaky, wear a workshirt, and say it's a cash ticket for [random local shop with an account].

A good locksmith with a laptop and an up-to-date key programming suite should be able to do that part for you. Shop around...the dealer may be reasonable, or may not. I'd expect 0.5-1.5 hours of labor, depending on their dickishness.

Interesting. You're saying a locksmith can create smart keys based on the VIN? I always thought you had to go to the dealership to get they key made. (duplicated is another story, everyone and their brother can do that)

It's pretty straight forward. Call around to the different dealer parts deparments, and ask what they cost and what proof they need. It's a pretty simple credit card transaction.

Dealership is probably the best place to get them, if you want to ensure they work properly. They're not cheap though.

They're around $100-$150 depending on your model. There are a few websites around that sell really good replacements. A couple of people in other forums have recommended this site: http://www.originalkeyless.com

I wonder if it would be cheaper to not get the combo key for the corolla.
