Hey guys, I know that there are lots of these "What router should I get questions" but I haven't seen one particular to upgrading from the old GamerLounge series that is newer than 2010. (Guess that is a sign it is time for an upgrade)
More and more of my devices are 802.11n capable and I am starting to see some odd behavior on the router that requires it to be reset pretty often.
I want to spend as little as possible (shocking) but get something solid.
Primary WiFi uses:
2 Windows PCs (Facebook games, Web surfing, some Netflix)
HP Inkjet printer/scanner
D-Link 802.11G Print server (DP-G310 - may also replace)
Wii
2 Android phones (both WiFi data and WiFi calling)
1 Blackberry (Data only)
1 Android tablet
Primary Wired uses:
1 200 ft CAT5e link to another building (Outdoor cable, static shielded, etc.)
1 PC and Several Video streaming devices here.
1 PS3 (Gaming and Netflix)
1 Desktop PC (Gaming, torrents, this is the heavy use machine)
The WiFi coverage area required is 2800 sq ft. The DGL-4300 covers it when I added the ANT-0700 7DBi antenna.
There are so many choices now, Dual Band, QoS implementations, IPv6, etc. I could just use some solid recommendations from those who are using these newer routers right now.
Thanks,
MD
