If its an interior door, its not too difficult if its a standard sized door. Measure and head to home depot/lowes, get a door prehung, watch a youtube video or two, and install it. Dont forget to buy new trim. Trust me when I say if I can do it, anyone can. Im the most un-handy man I know lol

Try to repair the existing door frame if at all possible. It will save a lot of headache from fussing with interior and exterior trim and flashing.

If you absolutely have to replace the frame then I would strongly consider installing a Star Trek style sliding door with the appropriate control panel. The Home Depot on Archanis IV has a good selection back by the other millwork.

Go to your local mom-and-pop owned hardware store and ask for a contact for a handyman. You'll pay less than going through home depot and probably end up with a better finished product.

Pulsar's suggestion is a good one. I'm not sure about all markets, but around here, the better handymen don't work with Home Depot; at least not as far as I'm aware.

I'd suggest that you "waste" an hour or two watching a few videos on youtube. You may discover that you can do part of the job yourself (if you already have the tools.) As far as doors go, I think it takes a handful of doors before you actually get it in "perfectly." Imho, doors are one of the things that people underestimate the level of difficulty to put in. Well, not that it's difficult; but there's quite a bit of an art to doing it and getting the door in perfectly plumb, square, etc. I guess the best way to put it is, it's easy if you know what you're doing, but a hell of a lot harder than it looks.

This x1000. People take for granted a door with a good swing. They just expect it to open and close. But once a door begins to stick or bind up where it touches the jamb it is something noticeable. Multiply this problem if you are looking to reinstall a door in existing construction where the floor or framing is slightly less than perfect.

Tom Silva has a great video on how to do it. He makes it look so easy. and it hangs perfect. The way he uses math, his level, takes his measurements and even properly cuts the shims is art. Truly a master craftsman: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZAkGt7xvDUg
