Not really worth it unless you need space and don't have the option of lots of smaller harddrives.
See here: http://www.lonyo.co.uk/HDD.htm for a quick look I did at various capacities and costs per GB.
Best to buy 250GB driuves instead, unless you need the space/capacity, but I would assume larger drives for home users are going to be for storage and not so much constant use, so being 5~10% faster than other hard drives isn't necessary in the home really.

I'm definitely upgrading to it.. and i'm glad theres still support for PATA..

I got a old PE 350 celeron 700 file server, have 40gb left out of 200gb.. Having 750 in raid 1 would hold me over for a good 1-2 years and maybe more !

But I definitely want the price to drop.. to like where you can buy 2 drives for 500..

Is 62¢/GB great? I just bought a 400GB Seagate PATA (16MB cache) at Best Buy for US$159 -- 40¢/KB. Unless you're speaking tongue-in-cheek, why is $465 for a 750 GB drive so tempting?

Comparitively it's not that great, but take a step back...I remember paying like $150 for my 40 gig just a few years ago...750gb for less than $500 is amazing!
