I think more than anything Trump is cathartic to his base in that he gives them permission to be their worst selves, something they have wanted to do for a very long time but society never permitted.This is what happens when you elect a totally unqualified celebrity like Trump to the precedency. Then you get a segment of the population who think only the rando celebrities with no political experience on their TMZ feed are the best people suited to be President. There is a huge "celebrity culture" and cult of personality that has engulfed the country. Trump is almost unique about making almost meaningless blather appealing to a large base of people, primarily by spreading fear and uncertainty, but also by both feeding the fantasy of their dreams of easy wealth and celebrity. In part this is an extension of “celebrity culture” which awards attention to people just for being famous or outrageous regardless of whether they have experience in politics or anything insightful or particularly interesting to say. All these celebrities championed by dude in this thread have no aspirations of running for office or they would be doing so. It's just pure fantasy. And they most likely think the country is better off run by a unexperienced celebrity like Trump.
