The partisan response on both sides show how divided our country is. It's pretty unbelievable that you have Republican politicians stating Obama deserves equal credit to Bush (when clearly he deserves more). It's not like the Democrats' crap don't stink either though. They're already positioning this in terms of election 2012 instead of waiting a while for the country to celebrate in unison.

It's funny that the presidents are probably the most civil about this. Obama called Bush before he made the announcement and I'm sure Bush congratulated (maybe even thanked him) him on getting the job done.

Honest question for conservatives like Spidey though, was your initial reaction "Great news!" or "how a I going to take credit away from Obama."

And for the liberal hacks, did you say "great news" or did you first think "I can't wait to rub this in those conservatives' faces."

And so we went to war against al Qaida to protect our citizens, our friends, and our allies."

Hah - well he's supporting the Muslim Brotherhood despite them declaring war on US a few months before Egyptian elections:

The organization must reject violence and recognize democratic goals if the U.S. is to be comfortable with it taking part in the government, the White House said. In this period you were the national security adviser to President Carter. You therefore played a role in this affair. Is that correct?

Brzezinski: Yes. According to the official version of history, CIA aid to the Mujahadeen began during 1980, that is to say, after the Soviet army invaded Afghanistan, 24 Dec 1979. But the reality, secretly guarded until now, is completely otherwise: Indeed, it was July 3, 1979 that President Carter signed the first directive for secret aid to the opponents of the pro-Soviet regime in Kabul. I think you mean "celebrating THE DEATH of a guy..." I agree with you except I think P&N is pretty much worse than the general electorate. We really get the worst of the worst partisans here. The only place that is filthier is the comments on yahoo news (bizarrely ranting about Obama being a Muslim in response to this very story.)

And I know some people who got drunk and partied in celebration on the day Ronald Reagan died. Did I come here claiming that to be the "Democratic Response"? Of course not. You didn't use the word "official", but you definitely wanted to characterize it as such.
