Well.... there they go again.
Hillary rises in the polls and republicans pull out their ghazi card.
Gees, talk about desperate loons.
You'd think republicans on this committee would have enough to worry about already with the very prospect of a potential president Donald Trump tweeting out the nuclear codes at 3am.

They (this republican committee) assumes we all live in a perfect world when it comes to war and peace.
We don't. We never have and we never will.
Just ask GW about his 9/11 screwup.
Or, the fact it took another president to finally eliminate Bin Laden.

Not to downplay Benghazi, but this is old news and old news scripted by none others than... republicans.
And how fair and balanced could anyone expect THIS will be?

Personally, I am still waiting for the answers to the questions,
how did GW miss all the signs of 9/11?
Why did 3000+ Americans need die?
And why did his administration openly lie to congress, the world, and the American people about WMD's?

Still waiting for that report.

This whole process lost complete credibility (not that it really had any) when the final report was written with no contributions allowed by the Democratic members of the committee. Gowdy releases one, the Dems releas another and yet other Repub members of the committee release a third one.

But hey. At least more millions were wasted on it.

Still waiting for Reagans sainthood membership to be revoked because of the 241 Marines killed in Beirut. I guess that doesn't matter compared to the 4 killed in Benghazi

Where's the money, Lebowski?

Jackie Treehorn wants his money!

Greetings,

The repugs will drag anything out on Clinton as a smokescreen to hide their obstructionist agenda. I am convinced they know that they will never, ever make something stick that doesn't exist, but they keep on wasting taxpayer money and precious time pretending that something must be there. It's shameful and I for one intend to do everything possible to get them out of our Congress in the months and years ahead.

I honestly wish there was a truly productive, non partisan look at Benghazi to see what we can do differently in the future. Unfortunately that is too much to ask for in our current environment.

Then we would have just arrived at "you can't predict everything and sometimes people in dangerous positions die."

Otherwise two relevant things did come out of this. The "safe room" in the consulate was inadequate and US security/military resources weren't already in a position to intervene in time.

But that's boring and not particularly damning so BENGHAZI!!!

we gotta be nearing that 60 days, right? I mean it's been a constant barrage of facts and documents damning her, so she's gonna be in the pokey before November, right?

Uh there was, starting all the way in 2012. Not only that but recommendations were made and those recommendations were implemented.

What seems to be too much to ask for is for the American people to pay attention to this story from the beginning to see just how political the Republicans have made this tragedy.

They are hammering this topic on fox 'news' right now, go figure.
The blowhards they have condemning her are so firey and passionate about this. It's cute that they pretend to care.

These troglodytes really believe ANY voter gives a shit about this. The level of idiocy is staggering. Clinton is probably thanking God they are wasting their time on meaningless crap like this. It makes them look small and vindictive and makes her look good in comparison.

Frontpage on Fox:

Wishful thinking Fox. Everyone already knew the youtube thing was bogus, old, old, old news.

It was only several months ago Fox, when the true motives were revealed:

We don't need a study to do that, we already know more than enough and the same basic scenario has played itself out infinite times in governments everywhere and of all political parties. Troubling situation comes up, politician puts trivial "optics" considerations of momentary political expedience above the correct choice, and then the shit proceeds to hit the fan with a political cost billions of times worse than had they just allowed the requested course of action to proceed in the first place.

Do you think in retrospect that literally anyone on earth would have given the tiniest fraction of a rats' ass if we had beefed up security around the consulate?

Do you think anyone would have given the tiniest fraction of a shit that Valerie Plame was CIA and married to some ambassador no one ever heard of that produced an "intelligence finding" on yellowcake that no one gave the slightest shit about?

Do you think anyone would count beyond zero fucks that Bill was getting some action on the side from a chubby kid named Monica who wouldn't even swallow?

Hillary is just one more in a long line of politicians who make shitty choices for shitty political reasons.

Still better than electing a man like Trump who will make significantly shittier choices not for political reasons but because he's a goddamn idiot.

You mean kicking that dead horse.

So is this "it" or is this just going to keep on going?

It all depends on Hillary's poll numbers vs Trump's.
And how much longer they can waste the taxpayers money until the taxpayers sit up and take notice.
Republicans could have simply done the right thing and just given the 7 million directly to the families.
Or made a 7 million donation to cancer research.

So yes, it will keep on going and going whenever Hillary's numbers rise or as a distraction whenever Trump says something stupid.

We see the trend emerging?
I guess if a party controls the house and senate, they can waste money on anything.

Bottom line, its no wonder this party stands behind someone like Donald Trump.
I mean, who else for them?
Donald Trump is not some quirk for them, he fits like a glove.

Not to be pedantic, but the waste far exceeds $7 million. The time and resources that went into this is absolutely disgusting. Let's also not forget that this is a naked politicization of the death of four real people. Their families and friends have had this dragged out for four years (not referring to only Trey's investigation here).

Well said.

I've heard three interesting points:
1. They requested additional security over 200 times. All were denied or ignored.
2. Hillary was privately saying terrorism while publicly saying spontaneous response to an American Internet video.
3. The Democrat report cites Donald Trump 23 times. (WTF?)

Hey, at least it's over.
