so you are admitting Clinton knowingly lied and mislead the public about the whole thing?
Absolutely everyone knows that, but politicians knowingly lying and misleading the public ceased to be shocking back when papers were delivered on horseback.

The Democrat report cites Donald Trump 23 times. (WTF?)

I consider reading either report to be a complete waste of time, so I'm only speculating here. But I'm guessing the Democratic version focuses on the political nature of the investigation, and comments by the presumptive Republican candidate on the investigation would be relevant to that.

The committee hasn't been investigating any Benghazi scandal for quite some time. They ARE the scandal. If there were any additional bits of truth to discover by now, the time has long since passed and the well of discourse poisoned. Its time to shut this charade down permanently and let historians take up the matter.

Yeah, and they'll just keep doing it as long as we let them.

The problem is that the level keeps escalating.

An investigation has concluded that showed our people in Libya were in grave danger and that the administration knew they were for a considerable period of time but because it would make it apparent that the policies of the Clinton and Obama administrations in Libya were a failure, it was decided to tell lies to the world while privately the truth was related to members of foreign governments as well as family members. Not the family members of the dead though. They got told a whopper by none other than the greatest pathological liar of the 20th and 21st centuries.

It was only four people this time. We could set a limit on the body count before we say enough is enough or we can complain that the swirls in our latest purchase at Starbucks are not up to snuff.

Christopher Stevens
Sean Smith
Glen Doherty
Tyrone Woods

They gave their lives so that Democrats could remain convinced that their policies in Libya actually worked. Lies told, lies believed.

Sorry about you dead guys. It's just politics. <shrug>

This was the look on Mitt's face right after he unleashed the Benghazi mindfuck on the world-

The whole blaming routine (not to mention the insane speculation) dishonors the courage & dedication of those who were killed. Our diplomatic corps finds themselves in all kinds of sketchy situations all over the world. Always have & always will. They know it. They put themselves out there on the edge for this country, for us. It can't work out the way we want all the time.

Keeping that in mind, the back biting & mock piety posturing from Repubs has been shameful. Not that they'd notice.

Is it just me or does Trey Gowdy look like The Penguin from Gotham:

Definitely both of you.

Agreed on the first part, but while the Pubbies are slightly more aligned with my own values, on balance they aren't any better on lying. While Hillary and Obama were conspiring to lie about it, Romney was doing the same. Presidents certainly don't set security levels or decide when to pull out an ambassador. I'm not even sure Hillary did; if so, she certainly covered her tracks.

On the second, I'd say those four people died not so that Democrats could remain convinced that their policies in Libya actually worked, but because Democrats simply fucked up and refused to believe they were wrong. Our people were left dangling when all our allies pulled out because the smartest people in the world (as they figure it) were simply incredibly wrong and too stupid to see it. One could make an argument that tens of thousands of people died in Syria and Libya for the same reason, or that hundreds of thousands of people died in Iraq when Bush believed that if he brought democracy to Iraq, things would be better. The one constant is that when Presidents fuck up, people tend to die at wholesale levels. These four were simply some of these. Tragic because they were ours, but not all that different in kind.

Strange, they don't look like they could conquer half the world . . .

Such a strange coincidence this 4 year old issue would be brought up right in the middle of a presidential campaign.......

The only base this whole thing resonates with are the people already voting for Trump... they are wasting their time. If they had held any of the 60 deaths under Bush, the fake pretenses for war that he gave to the same scrutiny then this would be a bigger issue. Instead they are grandstanding and lying to the poor mother of one of the victims all in an attempt to bring down Hillary.

Still waiting for Reagans sainthood membership to be revoked because of the 241 Marines killed in Beirut. I guess that doesn't matter compared to the 4 killed in Benghazi

And then he ran from Beirut with his tail between his legs, Pussy. Oh wait he bought in a battle ship to blast civilians form 20 miles away.

Anyone seen the movie 13 hours? How accurate do you think the overall story line is? In the movie the "safe-room" was little more then a bedroom, the windows just had fancy metal screen open to the air?

BTW beyond the politics was a decent movie.

The real shame is that this sort of multiple political witch hunt ties up valuable tiem and personnel at State, the White House and the military-resources that could be best used on REAL and CURRENT problems-like ISIS doing attacks in Turkey, Belgium, France and where ever they hit next.

It's also sad that this sort of investigative effort wasn't done on 9/11 (GWB and Cheney gave unsworn testimony only, for an hour in the White House and they were questioned together so they could confer on their answers).

To be fair there was an investigation, errors were found and changes were made if I remember correctly there was little partisan BS in the investigation.
The main difference was we didn't have the internet to bicker over stupidly minor details endlessly with.
