not while you have your fascist puppet in the house. Not a fucking chance.
I didn't think so, but nice to see you're all admitting what a pack of hypocrites you are. Do you think you can stop your whining and tantrums now about Republican obstructionism?

That's correct, the shoe is on the other foot and Democrats are INadequately escalating things past what Republicans did before them.
Fixed for truthiness. Put the blame where it belongs, on the Trump for not doing his homework and getting his shit together before taking office.

Actually he had his nominees at a faster pace than Obama or Bush, what he didn't have were Democrats approving many very early in his term. It's really not that big of a deal, they'll be approved sooner rather than later and he'll continue moving forward with his plans. If the Senate needs to go nuclear to get it done, it'll happen.

"Unprecedented"?

News Flash - the Dems are barely warming up to what the Repubs did for years under Obama.

The righties are just full of alternative facts. What else is new.

You're so easy, thanks.
how's that tajjy?
because I feel that the democrats should spend the duration of drumpf's presidency being obstructionists? I do, and I am 100% ok with it. They dicked over obama at every turn, turtle mcconnell saying "one of my proudest moments was when I looked at Barack Obama in the eye and I said, ‘Mr. President, you will not fill this Supreme Court Vacancy"
I repeat myself, fvck them, fvck drumpf and fvck you.

Please. That hasn't happened, certainly not less than 2 weeks into the new presidency.

The contention that it has is pure bullshit.

It serves them right for all the obstruction tactics they pulled during Obama's term. However, at the same time the Dems are showing they're no different than the Repubs.

It you were attempting to miss point you succeeded.

Both establishment 'parties' act the same. Many people are beyond tired of it. IMO, this is what Trump, a non-politician non-establishment type, took advantage of to gain an unlikely win in the election.

Fern

If BothSides are the same, why is it always only the clearly worse side using that argument? <--- this symbol at the end indicates a query to ponder, and I've also found that only one side typically gets confused by this.

Two kinds of people on this. Those who side with principle one way or the other, and those who have principles only about the other side. Filibuster is evil. Filibuster is good.

Whatever.

Dems don't have the power to filibuster any presidential appointments other than to the SCOTUS. They can put up some procedural hurdles, basically the same hurdles wrt vetting we've had for some time. If Trump nominees can't pass that they don't deserve to be confirmed.

At 11 days into it, "They're just as bad!" is an argument that can't pass the sniff test. Dems may end up that way but it's obviously much too early to be throwing those stones.

Whatever.

There is a middle ground. Filibustering truly bad bills/people is good. Filibustering everything just to ensure the other side gets no victories is evil. So stalling terrible nominees, that have ethics issues, doesn't really bother me. Obama was smart enough to pull his nominees with ethics issues, no such luck with Trump.

Republicans blocked insane numbers of nominated positions throughout the executive branch, including a well respected judge for USSC. So far Dems are just riding the brakes on what 3? All who have issues. They've passed others on no problem.

The Republican dumb****'s obstructed even what should be bipartisan (e.g. spending on infrastructure), especially considering that the economy was in the tank.

They also managed use other obstructive measures. Hey, I don't care if you do it or not. When you complain about the principles though and do the same that's just hypocrisy. "They're just as bad" doesn't even make sense as it's completely inapplicable.

the best part was when McConnel kinda "fillibustered" himself (you know--don't make me support my own bill!) and then blamed Obama for making him do it. That shit will never get old, and republicans should never live that down. LoL the fucking shame!

Now THOSE were some unprecedented tactics for our generation. Worse we've seen since LBJ obstructed John F Kennedy back in 1963.

People acting like any filibustering is bad are just missing the point. On things that should get bipartisan support, they refuse and use excuses. They essentially complain about debt and deficits until they are in power and then it no longer matters. They themselves know that spending helps the economy, and you can't have that under a Democrat administration.

McConnel and Newt and several others in that angry old white guy obstructionist age range just need to slither into a fucking hole and die and let us move on as a country.

  1. Obstruction in the face of a depression
  2. Multiple govt shutdowns, near default
  3. Merrick Garland
  4. Eat a bowl of dicks
There is absolutely no reason to help Rs on anything. SCOTUS hasn't collapsed with 8 judges. No reason there needs to be 9, it's a recent configuration anyway. RBG dies, fuck it, we go to 7.

Trump can only move us backwards, so it's better to stay in place than regress.

Obstruction wins elections, thanks for the lesson.
