The decision has been made, whether or not Democratic whiners-extraordinaire want to admit it. NOTHING, repeat NOTHING is gained by a recount either way.
Have you ever heard of something being done for the good of the country? At this point, no recount (standardless and biased as any would be) will do anything to change the result that Bush is the President-Elect, and the only outcome would be to throw the country into turmoil over a disputed presidency. Most people in the country (check the fscking polls before you spout off already) are satisfied with the results of the election and are willing to move on.
Scenario A: Recount (standardless and biased) confirms Bush's presidency. Democrats will still whine about the supposed disenfranchising of black voters (including those roadblocks) and the infamous butterfly ballot. The people still discontent will stay that way.
Scenario B: Recount (standardless and biased) shows that Gore allegedly won the Florida electors. Vociferous criticism of Bush paralyzes the government, casting more doubt on its legitimacy and probably spurring our enemies to act in defiance of an "illegal" government. Who knows where this ends, but it's certainly not going to be good either way.
The majority is "correct" in voting for Gore for president, but "incorrect" in wishing for finality and closure. All Democrats are required to wear flip-flops for the next four years.
