Worst candidate in history, flip flopped on almost every issue, hid his tax returns, parked money offshore, lied his ass off, wouldn't give any details of his tax plan, insulted women, insulted 47% of the general population and he still got over 48% of the popular vote. Ya, Republicans are in real trouble.......

Those are minuscule compared with over 8% unemployment for 4 straight years. Yet Obama still won going away. Add in record spending in support of a challenger due to Citizens United, and frankly it looks awful that Republicans didn't get closer.

Given that Democrats agreed with you until after the first debate it makes you wonder if Obama purposefully tanked it in order to make Romney seem like a semi-credible opponent to throw the Republicans into disarray when Romney lost.

I think the party will adopt a new position on illegal immigration reform. Even Occam's Razor doesn't contradict the fact their demographics suck across the board and something has to change. Younger republicans are also more liberal about such things and might take it as sign they're not totally forgotten.

Since most American use electric razorsr, the praise of "Occams Razor" simply does not apply to US rational thinking.

As I more suggest its more that other definition, than insanity is defined by trying the same thinging over and over again, while pretending we will have better results next time.

Can Republicans just do a 180 on immigration? Wouldn't that just incense a large portion of their base? And even if they manage to carry that policy you will hear and read every single day that the immigrants are low lifes who will destroy America from everyone from right wing radio to forums and facebook. So the Republicans might even get less hispanic votes as the racists go crazy.

I still stick by my belief that they won't make major changes and will hope that they can win in 2016 by running a better candidate or campaign or that some event will occur that will favor them. Basically they are not going change unless they have to. And they don't have to yet.

If the pragmatists can't drag some of the uttermost right wing into some semblance of sense on a number of these issues, they'll most likely just be wasting many more millionaires' pac funds on futile runs.
