Request for Sony FW373B Opinions

I have been looking at replacing a 3+ year old laptop and found this model Sony on Newegg for $1299 with free shipping.

It is currently at Staples for $1329, but there Sneak Preview Ad shows it for $1199 starting Sunday.

The only difference I can find is the Newegg model is black and Staples Gray, denoted by the /B and /H respectively after their model numbers.

It will be used for various tasks as a second computer to a recently built desktop, including creating and delivering presentations, some photo and possibly some light video editing on the go, and watching the occasional movie. Gaming is not a huge priority but I will do some knowing their will be limitations on its ability to game without reducing quality or resolution.

I know it is more computer than I need for some of the tasks, but I would like it to be able to have adequate power and performance for the three years or so I expect to keep it.

Does any have any personal experience with this or a similar model?

I've used one a few times but do not own one. I like it a lot. The things is very well spec'd, and the "full HD" (lie) resolution is actually really nice, albeit text is rather small. If you sit close to your screen (or have good eyes) it shouldn't be a problem. The resolution is so sweet in fact that it makes an external display almost unnecessary. If you don't care much for blue ray, like myself, then you might be able to find a cheaper option with just a plain DVD burner. Actually that might be impossible.

Thanks for the info. I decided to go more portable after I had my hands on one. I ended up picking up a Dell Studio XPS prebuilt.

Studio XPS's are nice pieces, certainly look sharp and can be had for a song if you can catch a deal.
