Requesting laser printer recommendations

I'm looking for a quality black & white laser printer for medium volume (500 to 1000 pages per month). I've always been a fan of Hewlett-Packard because of their reliability and build quality, but I'm open to other brands. My primary concern is print quality above all else, followed by cost per page to print.

Links to reviews, or personal recommendations would be welcome (however, if you give a personal recommendation, try to back it up with facts please).

How about giving us a budget range for the laser printer?? Do you need it to be networkable right out of the box?

I have a Samsung ML-2151N printer and it does an excellent job. It comes standard with the 10/100 ethernet adapter (internal), full duplexing unit (prints on both sides of the page right out of the box) can print up to 1200dpi, and prints over 20 pages per minute. The standard issue tray holds a full 500 sheets (full ream) of paper. I've printed over 750 pages on it so far (counts each side as a page) and the toner (that came with it) is still at 70%.

I compared it to similar HP printers when I was looking for a laser printer. At that time, the only things HP had to offer, that came close in features, were more money. The priner's maximum duty cycle is easily over what you're looking at... Check out the full spec's on Samsung's site "Max. Monthly duty: 100,000 sheets"

BTW, I used to be a fan of HP laser printers until I got to work with this Samsung printer. For the price, you'd be hard pressed to find a HP laser printer that comes close in features... Most often, you'll have a smaller feed tray/cartridge, no networking, and no full duplex unit in the HP at about the same price point...

I didn't give a budget range because I don't operate on a budget - I buy what gets the job done, regardless of price, if I was on a budget, I would have mentioned it; however, you did ask (somewhat) nicely, so here it is: It must cost no more than $50,000 dollars.

I'm going to go look at this Samsung you recommend and see what its all about. Thanks for the information.
