I started watching this show today on Netflix for the first time (am up to episode 6.)

I'm impressed and think its a solid show, and I think Leary does a surprisingly good job. How is the show after season one - does it stay strong?

The first season was good, then has ups and downs after that. Its a lot like Nip/Tuck in that they have a lot of ridiculous shit happen, and then more serious parts. I didn't stick with it much after season 3.

The show is bold with the perspective it takes of firefighter issues post 9/11 in a lot of the scenes, but I imagine that only lasted so long before writers changed the underlying focus and drama.

And the fact that he also co-writes it is impressive too. I thought this guy hadn't done anything of value since the Bo rehab commercials for Nike.

My wife and I have been watching it off and on since Christmas. We are up to the beginning of season4.

I think it stayed pretty good, I still enjoy watching it. Some of the drama stuff is a bit over the the top, but some of the firehouse one-liners and interactions are so great, those alone almost make it worth watching.

some of the stuff gets old. After the 2nd season, they go overboard at times, but it is still enjoyable. The last season finale was a good example, but it was still good none the less. What really bugged me in the later seasons was how slow everything went. The first seasons everything happened so fast. The later seasons, it seemed like it took 3 episodes to resolve a simple side story.

FYI....there are only 2 more seasons left until the series finale.

One of my favorite shows. Caught it on reruns starting around season 2 I think so I missed a lot of the backstory but thoroughly enjoy it. Not sure if I can go back and watch the first couple seasons knowing where the storyline is going.

My favorite show ever. Even when they get way out in Fantasy Land, they always come back to the ugly dark side. Awesome.

I didnt know they were streaming it now. Figures. I wasted two months getting them all watched by DVD.

Love the show and never miss an episode. This last season was great and can't wait for the next to start up. Will be a shame when the series comes to a finale.
