Perhaps. I think if you consider the systems overall they are roughly equal. They do different thing better. More equal than the ps2 and xbox were anyways. You'll probably see even more ports between the two systems than last gen.
Thing is people always say the cell has 2x the power the of the 360. Sure. I just want to remind people of the relative importance of the GPU in games.
As for the analogy... the 8800 series is the closest released architecture to the 360 gpu. Its inferior to the 8800 of course, but it does have the better shaders model, etc. perhaps if there were a 8600 or 8400 series card...... But that's why I chose it.
