Service interruption will occur on November 1st and will affect FX and FS* plus more...

I understand this is part of doing business but at the same time I like my FX shows (The League, American Horror Story) and must have my Fox Sports stations for local NHL broadcasts.

With that being said, which would you switch to between these two assuming they can't work out a deal before November 1st? Comcast or Uverse? BTW, I do already have Comcast for internet.

(No, I'm not interested in ditching cable/sat entirely.)

Isn't FX biting the hands that feed? Always Sunny and The League feature Directv prominently in a lot of episodes. I'm sure Directv is going to stop those dollars.

because you don't get to demand more money in the middle of a contract - you get to demand the money when the contract is about to expire. From what I understand, Fox wants a shit ton more money now than what they had been getting for those channels.

They can keep all the RSN channels. Waste of space. FX and Nat geo are the only things I will miss, but not for long. That is what my Appletv is for, jail broken and ready to stream the latest League.

Why not just call them and get them to give you a discount? I wasn't even through with my first year of service (at discounted rates) when I called and got them to give me another year of bill credits. Granted, I paid for NFL Sunday Ticket (at 50% off) in the process... but they also gave me starz/encore for free for a few months (yeah I know... but free is free).

directv makes no direct profit on sunday ticket. the NFL limits the number of subs that can get sunday ticket (as a gesture to the broadcast networks), and when you multiply that out by the fee for sunday ticket you get what directv is paying for sunday ticket.

They are misleading you by claiming Fox wants to charge you more. DirecTV is very profitable and THEY decide how much to charge their customers.

How stupid do they think we are? DirecTV isn't saying they want to charge US 40% more, they're saying Fox wants DirecTV to pay them more. Of course DirecTV chooses what they charge to their customers, but that's based on their own expenses, including, oh, the amount the networks charge them.

Its not direct, but what they get are people like me that would not have signed up for DirecTV at all were it not for Sunday Ticket.

There's a good chance that Fox and DirecTV could agree to a contract extension before midnight since both companies would find it challenging to handle the consumer backlash that could occur if 19 million subscribers lose the feeds for some of the most popular cable networks.
