Love that chicken from Popeyes. Spicy chicken breast, hot and spicy, plus dirty rice and a ice cold Coke = yummy/delicious.

it says they were selling the popeye's chicken tender sandwiches for $12.50 each.

sounds like tons of profit.

A Spanish restaurant near me got caught reusing the uneaten chips they served to other patrons. They'd take the dishes to the back, and put back the uneaten chips right back into the bag for the next customer.

Diners have also been caught reusing old tuna fish. They'd scoop off the slime and sell back the tuna to the next customer. Yummy. Lol

California is a southern food desert. It's just the plain truth. ...they make up for it for being amazing at literally every other cuisine in the world, though, so there's that.

I feel sorry for those of you who don't have Peruvian chicken places near you. I'd take that pretty much 10 out of 10 times over fried chicken. Okay, maybe 9/10 because I do like me some fried chicken. It's just not as good as Peruvian chicken.

Nope, never had it. But no amount of wood fire, spices, marinade, and sauce is going to make it better than fried chicken. There's a reason why fried chicken is the king in the South even though we have great BBQ smoked chicken. It's impossible to beat fried chicken.

He is actually bang on, i worked for 2 years at Neptune foods(now bought by Gordon food service, a direct competitor for Sysco), and 90% is pre made crap, we supplied all kinds of restaurants from fast food like A&W, tim hortons up to mom and pop sit down places and big chains like rickeys, montanas, cactus club. And 90% of the sit down chains ordered pre made crap, instant mashed potatoes, cooked and frozen vegetables, premade protein options just requiring heating. It was eye opening working there just how much stuff was pre made processed crap at restaurants, there are a few places still to this day i do not eat at just due to the low quality of food that i know they order.

I disagree. I love them both and would never be able to find a preference between the two. And I'll toss in real charcoal-cooked Jamaican jerk chicken, as well. They are all awesome, and not one is really "better" than the other.

True but these guys were advertising fresh, local ingredients cooked in-house.

Everyone's missing the best part of the story where the owner shoots back on Facebook saying "Yeah so what? We PROUDLY serve Popeye's chicken".

Eating at some restaurants is about saving time and being lazy not freshly made food.

You understand that is how the feanchise model works for the parent company right?

Yeah, I do. It was in a story about how franchises were really putting it to the franchisees in different ways - IIRC the produce issue with Subway was that the price of many items bordered on the outrageous. Another part of it was how Quizno's parent company would flood towns with high value coupons and the franchisees were obligated to honor them even though every coupon sale was a loss for the store. So Quizno's the company was increasing their profits (from selling supplies/food) at the expense of the franchisees' profits.
