<< It's a terrible game. Most motorcyling games are terrible. It's a shame. >>

By fun I don't mean realistic, I mean something like Motoracer/Motoracer2, arcadish fun with smooth graphics that even my 4 year old could play. That is what I am looking for.

I'm not sure if someone pointed this out, but Shenmue is readily available at local Target's in Southern CA for $13.90. This may be useful to people in this area since Sears in this area is clearly *not* showing prices that others in this forum have found.

Interestingly enough, while I was in Sears today checking prices (trying not to have a heart attack as the regular prices came up), I saw an opened copy of Mortal Kombat: Gold. I asked if I could buy it, even though it's clearly opened. The salesguy said "sorry, I cannot sell it to you..even if it was sealed. When it is scanned on our system, it comes up as $0.00 and then a message will flash that says "Please return to manufacturer." I didn't even have the ability to respond to that one....can anyone comment on that????

I then went to ebgames and found the Dreamcast Keyboard (official Sega one) for $14.99. They also had the Performance Jump Pack for $4.99. I bought Episode One: Pod Racer used for $12.99 (this game really stinks...the graphics look like PSOne). They also sell brand new games now bundled with a VMU for $19.99. I bought Starlancer with a VMU for that price. They are blister packed together. I though, gee, I'll just open this up and return the sealed copy to Circuit City (where I bought it for $14.99) and save $5.00. NO GO. The VMU and the Game, although sealed, have a white sticker covering the UPC. I removed the UPC from the game and found the UPC was slashed (much like a Cut-Out CD). So now I have TWO Starlancers with no way of returning either one. Doh! Be careful when you have lame-brain schemes like me.

Also ebgames has the Dreamcast mouse for $9.99. I wish I had that instead of two Starlancer games.

At any rate, if you are in Southern California, I'd say don't waste your time with either Sears or CompUSA. I've wasted a lot of time scanning Dreamcast games and frankly I hope I never see either store again.

EDIT: I've been playing with Episode One Pod Racer for more than I did when I reviewed it. Forget what I said. It's a very cool game. It's amazing how trying more than one course can change my total opinion of the game. And the graphics look much better now. Total Dreamcast quality. It helps if I wear my glasses while playing the game!

Sorry for your frustration, Atrac

I can relate. No Sears near me is showing the slash-n-burn pricing, and neither is the only CUSA within 100 miles.

Your tale of woe is the EXACT reason I am wanting to add scanned receipts to the list.
With those, we might actually stand a chance for a PM at some of these boneheaded B&Ms.

For those with kids, Max Steel is $9.99 at gamestop.com. It got some halfway decent reviews.

My local CUSA is EMPTIED of dreamcast stuff. I asked the manager, and he kinda laughed like I had been living in a black hole the past weeks. Anyways, I also checked out Toys R Us, and found a controller for $15. Is that a good price to pay? I'm also looking for a vmu (darn sonic 2 needs one along with tennis and nfl 2k2) Anyone have a direction i should head to find these things??

Fritzo,

On Gamespot.com Max Steel got a average 7.8/10 rating with 21 reviews submitted.

It got 8/10 here: Another Max Steel Review

Got some mixed reviews elsewhere. I doubt I would have paid more than $9.99 for it. But, I'm sure my 7 year old will enjoy it, that's all that matters.

Well my experience has not been too good. I stopped at Sears this morning. They had nothing marked down below 19.99. Shenmue was $49.99! They have everything in a glass case so you have to ask for help to check any of the prices. It was before 10AM so the place was a mad house. Then I went to EB and the only I saw that anyone might want was the tremor pak for $4.99 and Skies of Arcadia for $29.99. They also had a dreamcast mouse for $9.99. Circuit city was an even bigger disappointment. The VMU's were 9.99 which was okay but Grandia II was 39.99 and Shenmue was 39.99. Looks like stores in the Washington/Maryland area prefer to rape the public as much as possible.

I just finished playing Virtua Tennis. It's great for multiplayer and never seems to get boring. I loved to play 4 players on Mario Tennis on the N64.

Are there anymore games similar to this? I like how I can play on the same team as another player, rather than compete against everyone.

BB has DC controllers for $15 and blue VMUs for $10.
Most Babbage's, Software Etc., and EB have DC
controllers for $15 also. However, their VMUs are
$12.

Has anyone tried to hook up two wheels yet for head to head racing with the Dreamcast?

If anyone has tried it, does one person take one car and the other person another or is it a split screen deal usually? I have limited experience with consoles and need help planning this out.

Thanks,

Sal

Yeah the sears and circuit city stores in cleveland ohio aren't that great with their prices. Granted they have some good deals, but best buy has the bulk of good stuff for cheap.

Despite the "closeout" status, Best Buy stores in the Atlanta area have restocked their supply of Dreamcast consoles and accessories. As of Saturday, the stores I went to still had a pallet-full of DC consoles at $50. Also, lots of Sega brand controllers at $15, Sega brand visual memory cards at $10, and "vibrator" gadgets at $15.

They also had a wide variety of game CDs, ranging in price from $10 to $40, and seem to be keeping to near-retail for many of the games.

BB in NW ohio is nearly wiped out. 3-5 DC's left in both stores, and their game selection is pretty weak (40 copies of Virtua Tennis and NxL 2001 games, plus 1-2 each of the B rated games left).

IshmaelLeaver,
Wish I would have read review that before I bought it. Maybe I can use it for a coaster when I'm playing Test Drive:LeMans. So, there are no good motorcycle games for the Dreamcast eh?

Hey I found the Electronic Butiques... or EB have bleemcast for Tekken 3, metal gear solid and GT2...so whoever whats it get them there b4 their are gone...

i have to say..i bought bleemcast for gt2, it works with burned disk's so u dont have to buy the official version of gt2....
and for those who have to be police men for the site stop ur nagging...i am just saying....

besides i dont think gt2 is all that of a game now that i have played it...

gt3 is so much better that its beyond comparision...

i dont think its worth it to get bleemcast for gt2....or the game itself...
