I'm not sure if someone pointed this out, but Shenmue is readily available at local Target's in Southern CA for $13.90. This may be useful to people in this area since Sears in this area is clearly *not* showing prices that others in this forum have found.
Interestingly enough, while I was in Sears today checking prices (trying not to have a heart attack as the regular prices came up), I saw an opened copy of Mortal Kombat: Gold. I asked if I could buy it, even though it's clearly opened. The salesguy said "sorry, I cannot sell it to you..even if it was sealed. When it is scanned on our system, it comes up as $0.00 and then a message will flash that says "Please return to manufacturer." I didn't even have the ability to respond to that one....can anyone comment on that????
I then went to ebgames and found the Dreamcast Keyboard (official Sega one) for $14.99. They also had the Performance Jump Pack for $4.99. I bought Episode One: Pod Racer used for $12.99 (this game really stinks...the graphics look like PSOne). They also sell brand new games now bundled with a VMU for $19.99. I bought Starlancer with a VMU for that price. They are blister packed together. I though, gee, I'll just open this up and return the sealed copy to Circuit City (where I bought it for $14.99) and save $5.00. NO GO. The VMU and the Game, although sealed, have a white sticker covering the UPC. I removed the UPC from the game and found the UPC was slashed (much like a Cut-Out CD). So now I have TWO Starlancers with no way of returning either one. Doh! Be careful when you have lame-brain schemes like me.
Also ebgames has the Dreamcast mouse for $9.99. I wish I had that instead of two Starlancer games.
At any rate, if you are in Southern California, I'd say don't waste your time with either Sears or CompUSA. I've wasted a lot of time scanning Dreamcast games and frankly I hope I never see either store again.
EDIT: I've been playing with Episode One Pod Racer for more than I did when I reviewed it. Forget what I said. It's a very cool game. It's amazing how trying more than one course can change my total opinion of the game. And the graphics look much better now. Total Dreamcast quality. It helps if I wear my glasses while playing the game!
