It's good, if you're into Tomb Raider.

Tee Off- I figured that I should try a golf game, but after looking at the back, it looks more like a cartoon than a real golf game. Does it suck?

It's ok, but it's no Mario Golf.

Spirit of Speed 1937- It's a race game with vintage cars. Anyone ever heard of it? Is it any good?

Total crap. Stay away.

Just to let you guys know in NYC 37th st and 5th ave CompUSA is out of Dreamcast games and accessories completely. I ask the salesperson and they told me to check on line at half.com Geez....

 

I stopped at Circuit City last night on the way home. They had quite of few titles in stock. I grabbed Looney Tunes Racing and Record of Lodoss War. They were both marked at 29.99. I brought them up to the checkout and had them scan the prices. They scanned at 14.99 (Looney Tune Racing) and 9.99 (Record of LodossWar). The guy at the counter said they were marking down their Dreamcast games. So don't be afraid to ask CC to scan the prices for you. I just bought my Dreamcast last week and now have over 12 titles for it. I have not had to pay more than $15 for any title. Try doing that with a PS2.

they (CC)also have green vmu for 10$ (no other colour available at my local store ... sigh )

and yes, their prices are not up to date. ask the salesperson to price check for you just to make sure.
i got another record of lodoss war for $10 (and ask CUSA to refund me $5 since i bought from them the day before). now what am i going to do with two copies of this game? hmmm......

for people who are out of luck (like me) getting soul calibur for $20 from sears, CC has that for $30

also, if you have fry's around you, Tee Off Golf is $10 as well ...
the characters in this game are cute ones, not the realistic one. it's close to hot shot golf 1 for psx or swing away golf for ps2. they are all comparable, but i still like swing away golf better

OMG, definitely get Soul Calibur. It's mind blowing. I'm not into fighting games, but this title proves that the Dreamcast didn't die because of hardware reasons. Liquid smooth animation and gobs of eye candy, colors and texture. Can't wait to get my Interact VGA adapter and so I can play SC on my Diamondtron monitor.

By the way, does anyone know if Half Life was ever officially released in the United States for the Dreamcast???

Also, I think I saw MDK2 for $10 at CompUSA, but am not for sure.

Yeah, I personally took the MDK2 up to the cashier at Burbank, CA CompUSA and it rang up $29.99. I guess they aren't using any generic UPC Tags there (or just haven't caught up with the times...which is odd since they all should have the same system).

I did buy Starlancer at Circuit City for $14.99. It's a hard game, but the sound quality *really* sucks. It's all static sounding. Did anyone else buy this game or own it and if so, does the sound suck for yours? Maybe mine is defective? All of my other games sound fine.

Oh, and while I'm at it, since I love "Half Life" so much...are there any similar games I could buy for the Dreamcast? I am not too familar with the titles. I already have Quake III: Arena...which is the same idea, but I also like to blow away aliens and have a story line (still first person shooter type though). In other words, I'd like a "Halo" for the Dreamcast. Hopefully there's something similar. D2 maybe?

I got my DC+Sega GT last week at bestbuy sale for $47.99 before tax..not bad at all..
only wish I would have waited b/c as I went there today..the sports bundle has been mark
down to $69.99 as opposite to $99.99 just a few days ago..oh well..

After a full day..(well..more like 6 hrs) of driving around, and came up nearly empty..
(went to 2 compusa, 2 circuit city, 1 toys r us, 2 bestbuys, and 1 fry's)
all I manage to came up with are..blue vmu for $9.99 at bb, record of lodoss war for $9.99 at cc,
I was feeling kinda sad as I pull into nearby mall for some food..
much to my surprise..a small video game store in the mall has quite a few nice deal for dc..
mainly used games and some accessories...

I end up with Tremor pax rumble pack for $7.99, Resident Evil 2, 3, and Code Veronica for total of $35,
They have around 100 dc titles (some titles has more than 1 copies) and most of the price are under $15..
not bad I would say considering some of the titles simply is too hard to find at retail store or online..
probably will go back there tomorrow and dig up a few more, ie..soul caliber, street fighter 3 both titles,

and I came back home..log on to my beloved anandtech..ordered my virtua fighter 3tb for $13.50,
and bought NFL 2K1 with Shenmue from the forum for $20 shipped..

Not a bad day after all..
I guess if you don't mind used stuff...2nd hand dc games for $15 and under seems pretty good..
as long as the cd is in good shape and the case/manul is somewhat clean I guess..

man..I really want to get my hand on Gundam Side Story 0079...anyone has a copy for sale??

If you can find it, Tokyo Extreme Racer 2 is one of the best racing games ever made for the dreamcast, if not any system. I like it better than TER:Zero on the PS2 but that is probably because I've been playing this one for a year and a half now and am used to it

also to add to the wanted list is PowerStone and PowerStone2.
These are amazing multiplayer games for the dreamcast, IMHO even better than smash bros for N64.

For those of you who live in Southern CA, the Best Buy in Atwater Village (pretty much Glendale) off of the 5 Freeway still had like 4 Dreamcasts yesterday (Saturday, Dec 1st) for $49.99. I talked to a rep and she said "Oh, we have a lot more in the back." I said "Really? All of the other Best Buy's are sold out!" She kind of shrugged and said she didn't understand it.

I was suprised to find my Gaithersburg (Maryland) Best Buy to have a large stock of unsold DC's. They had at least 50 of them still piled up on a wall that were just sitting there. All you maryland people who haven't scored one at 49.99 should go buy one (or two, or three!)

Also, anyone know the difference between DOA2 and DOA2 LE?

GRRRRRR! First day out of the house in a while....nothing but frustration.
My local Sears and CC were NOT scanning at the low prices we've gathered for some titles.

I'm thinking it would be good if we added scans of the receipts for some of these purchases.
If you want to add a scan, please do the following:

• * Scan at 72 dpi or less, in black and white.
  * Crop it right on the edges of the receipt.
  * Save it as a jpg.
  * PM it to me as an attachment

I've got no problem hosting them on my account, up to my space limit.
However, I'm on @Home, and could go black any minute (DSL ordered, but still 2+ weeks away).
PM me if you can (and will) host the scans on a more stable account.

200! 200 posts and still going strong! More proof that Dreamcast *still* rules!

Oh, but frustration indeed! I checked yet *another* CompUSA and their prices are also not matching what has been posted by other forum members here. MDK2 (the game I *really* want for cheap now!) is still scanning at $29.88. CUSA's website also shows it for that price, so whomever got it for $9.88 got lucky and they made a mistake.

Someone pointed out that games should now have a bulk UPC label placed over the old label. Nope. That should not be happening for Dreamcast titles..at least not yet (?).

I'm just wondering if we'll end up seeing Dreamcast titles blister packed at a reduced price, like I see PS 1 titles. They have bunches of them hanging on pegs everywhere. Maybe that's why one CUSA sent all of their titles back? Maybe we'll eventually see them "bulk" like a lot of PS 1 Titles.

At any rate, I'm looking for:

Mortal Kombat Gold for $9.99 or less.
MDK2 for $9.99 or less.
Dreamcast Keyboard for $14.99 or less

I'm looking for the keyboard because I would like to make use of the PlanetWeb Broswer. It's actually a very nifty function that, with built-in modem, is alone worth $50! I see that PlanetWeb is still selling their Browser Version 3.0 on Amazon Z-Shops for $19.99 plus $4.99 shipping. I'm thinking about getting it. Anyone else do so? I'm curious to know how much better it is than 2.0.
