Anyone know if the Retail versions overclock as well as the OEM versions, or are they no different? Thanks

There are different steppings and manuf. dates for each, those are the only differences. It's just the luck of the draw what you get, unless they state specifically. I have heard that the oem chips are generally newer, since they generally sell quicker.

There's a forum somewhere (I forget the name [amddb?]) that tracks peoples overclocks for specific chips and steppings. Maybe someone could help with that.

Electrode.....
This deal angers me, as I paid almost $190 for my 2500+
Aren't they all like that...I remember paying $140 for my old 4megs edo ram.

Price is now $90 for Newegg and $91 at Googlegear with both free fedex saver shipping.

Sux, I have to pay 8.25% tax for LA area.:disgust:

Hmm, your just a youngster in the computer world! I remember paying $300.00 for 1 Meg of Dram memory back in the mid 80's when I got my first PC and that was a good deal at the time.

These prices are going to continue to drop. Athlon 64 will be here in September so if you can hold on till then, you can get a good system cheap, or get the best system for a lot. Bartons will be at the same level as Durons are now in a few more months.

yup, September is the right time to buy new computer parts. It coincide with the release of Half-life 2. I just hope HL2 is not delayed.
