What, exactly, is too red? Does the grayscale have a red tint to it? Or, is the red primary too orange? It may need a little blue or green compensation...Also, nonlinear gamma curves are possible to use (as are profiles). I take it you were disappointed with the profile I had made, or it was not correct for your unit?

i am not sure if nothing happened or the change is too subtle for me to notice.

there are three types of panel choices: LPL22w.4, LPL22w.g.4, CMO22w.4

Re: too red = no, grays to not have a hint of red. but red colored object are not red, they are more leaning towards orange. I have a picture of my sister wearing red shirt, it didnt appear red, kinda 80% red, 20% orange, and very bright too instead of dull textured red. I dont think i am explaining this too well.

Well I just got a 15% off coupon in the mail for Dell and I currently run a 20" 2007WFP that I am content with. I am considering a 2407 or a 3007 but don't really know if I NEED it, but it would make for better movie watching and a bit more screen real estate in SupCom. Is the 3007 a good panel? I realize it only has HDCP and DVI input so it's not like I could use it for console gaming as one could with a 2407, so that's a downside... but besides that any thoughts as to what to use 15% electronics coupon on? =)

Interesting. Previously, there were only 2 choices available: LPL and CMO. Now it looks like there are profiles for 2 distinct LG Philips panels (LPL)

So how do you manage to get these coupons? I have been subscribing to the newsletter for 6 months and registered an account on on the Dell.ca web site, but certainly never got any coupon.

this is the first one I've noticed and I've been getting their catalogues for about a year? so yeah no worries, you might even get one soon since mine just arrived and has a valid date range of 5/25-7/15.

Called my local Fry's stores to be told that the NEC 20WMGX2 had been "discontinued" and would not be in stock any more ...

Any validity to this? Is the $100 rebate meant to help deplete stocks since the model has been discontinued? If so, what will NEC replace it with?

Under point #5 in the topic post there really should be something about Input Lag. That's at least as bad as ghosting. Note that it's the larger *VA panels that exhibit input lag, which is when you move your mouse and it takes a few ms before the screen displays the change. This doesn't happen with S-IPS panels, fwiw, which is another reason I love my 2007WFP and wasn't as fond of my friend's 2405FPW. I imagine the 2407 also exhibits input lag.

It's not true that it doesn't happen with S-IPS panels. It has to do with the RTC buffer, which exists on any many of the LCDs that employ it. Thus that statement is a paradox...your 2007WFP does have input lag, but not enough that you'd notice it.

Yes, I will add a section about it. Thanks for reminding me. I am in the process of redoing the OP (it is getting outdated and hard to understand) so that will be something I will be adding.

You could get a DVI splitter or something but it would be costly to use a console with the 3007WFP.

But yes the 3007WFP is pretty sweet. 30", S-IPS, 2560x1600. Not much to complain about there. Not sure that response time is much worse than the best. Input lag, who knows.

Here are input lag measurements for the 3007WFP-HC (they are missing for the 3007WFP):
http://www.lesnumeriques.com/d...&mo2=198&p2=1911&ph=12

0 min, 11.5 ms avg, 27 ms worst-case

Not bad at all. Pretty avg for LCDs, not like the 50 ms values you approach with the 2407WFP. Go for it! Looks like the only thing they're selling right now is the 3007WFP-HC anyway, not the 3007WFP any longer. $1270...what a great price for a 30". That might be my next LCD!

Oh well forget it. Dell are some stupid sunzabiches and when you add the 15% off coupon they remove the current discounted price ($1269) so you would end up paying $5 MORE than if you don't use the coupon ($1274). Wow. Sod off, Dell.

HC means high color, or high gamut. The HC model uses a new wide gamut CCFL with new phosphors to provide 92% of the NTSC color space, vs. 72% of a conventional-phosphor CCFL.

With the rate we are going soon we will all have 50 inch lcd monitors for our computer! I don't know how you could use such a thing with a pc. Is there a limit you should stop at with lcd monitors for the pc ?

The 21.6-inch samsung 216BW is in stock at NewEgg for $269, a price that is way down there with the price leaders.

HERE

But Samsung's own 226BW, a full 22-inch, now with Samsung panel is down to

$295 after rebate

Might not be worth going for the 216BW.

Yes. Like all other LCD monitors in the 22-inch class. What I want is a $400, 8ms 22-inch S-IPS monitor. But apparently, manufacturers have decided to offer only a $279 22-inch TN.

This being said, I find the better 22-inch widescreen panels by LG and Samsung to be quite acceptable and "good enough" for general use. The only caveat is the vertical viewing angle. I have not yet decided if I can live with it.

@bernardP
for monitor use... vertical viewing angle isnt much of a concern since most often than not, you will be looking dead center anyways, for me at least.

never mind answering this... its just the stand color, BLACK, SILVER, and WHITE. Unfortunately, all stocks in my country are white... which looks like a sink. Anybody want to throw up?

This time I'm looking for some cheap models. I have to buy ~10 of them to the firm, but unfortunately, the costs have to be kept as minimal as possible. I'm looking for the price comparable to let's say NEC AccuSync LCD93V (approx 250$ in Poland at this moment).

Any recommendations for the "best" monitor around such a price ?

hey xtknight,
i just upgraded from a 17inch crt to the l226wt and i have a few questions:
are the colours suppose to appear washout and evidently? especially the green start button and the firefox icons (back forward home etc)
and my second question is, are you suppose to apply extra pressure to tilt it back? right now its around 5degree facing down and i want to adjust it but it feels like its about to break

thanks in advance
