I doubt they've managed to improve the input lag though, eh?

I was an hour away from ordering NEC's 2690... Then I bumped into this new name:
Anybody heard of or have an opinion of Planar's PX2611W, a new 26" display (from PLANAR, a company that's been in the display business for years now) that uses the same S-IPS panel as NEC 2690, namely LG's LM260WU1, according to Planar's tech guys I talked to this afternoon?
It cost about $1,000.... Hmmmmm..... What should I decide.......

Anyone ever try using NEC 20WMGX2 for HDTV? I have been lookin for a tuner card to record and I saw the ATI TV WONDER 650 supports HDTV. I've tried Googling info but just get fragmented comments in threads. All the aspect ratio, resolution talk makes my slysdexia kick in. Since HDTV is 16:9 and the NEC is 16:10 does that mean any image would get stretched to fit NEC? Some threads implied such. I don't use the NEC tuner at all. Thanx.

It's pretty scandalous that they can charge upwards of £60 for a device which might actually make your image quality worse...

2407 input lag is enough I wouldn't buy it if you play any FPS games, especially competitively. Just imho. I would find it very annoying.
go w/ a S-IPS panel for gaming.

I thought S-IPS has the worse performace for this sorta thing? Or is that just response time?

LesNumeriques.com finally reviewed the LG l226WTQ. The review is in French:
http://www.lesnumeriques.com/article-312-2050-35.html
There is a video showing the dismantling of the monitor to find out what the panel is. It is a LG-Philips panel. Highlights of the review are:
--- Fast, 2 ms, but with a bit of trailing RTC artifact
--- Default color is disappointing, DeltaE is 5.3
--- Slight twinkling is videos
--- Color can be corrected to near-perfection with the calibration profile: HERE
--- In all, they rate is as equivalent to the Samsund 226BW with "A" panel, but not as good as the hard-to-find 226BW "S" panel
LG L 226WTQ vs Samsung 226BW - S

Speaking of calibration profiles...
I would like to know why web sites like LesNumeriques post calibration profiles as ICM files, that requires loading in Windows (Wincolor), instead of simply giving the presets for each value so that the user could enter them directly in the monitor OSD.
