Hi,
Firstly, thanks 10e for your review. I've been eagerly awaiting your thoughts on it and after reading your positive review I was about to get one. Until you suggested at V2400 is a better monitor if you only use one monitor so now I'm again uncertain.
I would like your opinion on which of the following monitors would best suit me:
- BenQ e2200HD - AU$238
- BenQ G2400WD - AU$349
- Dell 2209WA - AU$415
- Open to other suggestions
A little about my situation:
- This will be a standalone monitor.
- I upgrade very rarely. This will be my first monitor that I've bought in about 15 years. Until now I have been using monitors from work that were going to throw away (atm Viewsonic 17"). At work I use a 19" Dell LCD.
- I just got a ATI 4850 512Mb (ATI 9800 Pro previously)
- Will use the monitor 90% of the time for reading - word, pdfs, latex, etc. I also use the computer to play games in the evenings and weekends. However, text must, absolutely must be easy to read.
- The price difference isn't too much of an issue for me.
- I don't think I will ever connect a console to it.
I was initially going to go for the e2200HD but I felt it was a waste since my graphics card in about a year would struggle to do 1900x1080. Also, reading text at 1900x1080 on a 22" would be difficult.
I'd be very grateful for your thoughts.
For me it'd probably be the Dell 2209WA due to the eIPS panel and viewing angle. 24" is a bit excessive. Plus 22" has a nice text size.
