I don't know what their dead pixel or RMA policy is, but I have bought stuff from them in the past and had no problems.

I was looking at these also. Big difference in price point for me. Almost double for the other panel 26 doublesight. Where did you buy yours?

I am in New Zealand and looking for a 24" monitor.
The NEC 2690 is not sold here, so instead I am considering:
HP 2465, Dell 2408 or Samsung 245T (listed in order of price). Applications include photo-editing (advanced amateur), programming and general office apps.
Thoughts please.

EAB, I know the Samsung 245T has one of the worse input lag scores around.
BTW-GTA4 is reviewed. Got a perfect 10 on ign.com. MGS4 will no doubt get a perfect score too. I need to get a good monitor for my PS3 soon...
xtknight, does the extended color gamut bother you on games or movies?
For one, I will be connecting the PS3 directly to the monitor. So if the monitor can't adjust, then any adjustments/calibration at the PC/GPU level won't fix nothing.

Hey, I'm new here. Just joined. Gotta say this is a very helpful thread.
I have a question, and I appologize if it has already been asked.
I just wanted to know how well LCDs work with older computers?
I have an hp pavillion 533w that is about 6 years old now (although I have only had it about 4 years).
My original crt died on me recently, so before I buy a new lcd, I wanted to make sure I wouldn't have any compatability problems.
My video card is just the factory card that came in the computer. So anyway, let me know.
Thanks.

What does everyone think of the LCD screen that comes with the Aluminum 24" iMac Screen? I might have already asked this, but I forget. I know it is the same LCD panel that comes with the NEC LCD2490, which is still on my short list of monitors to buy. Just how good is the final implementation of this 24" iMac?
Btw-the iMacs where updated today, though the screen should still be the same.

I keep reading, but I can't find a better option than the DoubleSight 26". Perhaps one of the nicer 24" S-TN panels would be a good buy for me, but then you have poor viewing angles. However, if you want low input lag, and want single link DVI for your PS3, that's all that is out there right now.
Even if I could find a good quality S-TN monitor, one that was even NON wide color gamut like I want, I am not sure if that is worth giving up the H-IPS panel tech in the DoubleSight 26", which is wide color gamut.
Avoiding wide color gamut is not worth losing the H-IPS tech for a S-TN monitor is it?
By now, I have come to the conclusion that the NEC LCD2490 is just too slow for a hardcore gamer like me. Even if I am only a part time hardcore gamer. I have read enough on forums to know better. The NEC would be good for my creative side, but not my movie gaming side. I just want one one monitor to rule them all...

Hmm, so apparently the XHD3000 has TONS of problems with Input lag because of the upscaling chip and stuff.
This is disappointing to say the least, as I'm primarily a gamer (though also a film enthusiast), so I will not be getting it. The DS-263N is once again seemingly like the best choice for me, though the lack of inputs is a tad disappointing. From what I understand there is only a DVI-D input?
Are there any comparable monitors that have a good variety of inputs? I'm looking for something that will take my computer via DVI-D, and also a 360 Elite via HDMI/VGA/component/DVI-I, and possibly a Wii
